Re: MX-23 beta 1 feedback thread

#291 Post by siamhie »

@Jerry3904 and @dolphin_oracle and other fluxers.

I came across an issue regarding "Recent files" in the root menu with MX-23 fluxbox-b1. (hope it's not to late to fix/implement)

I couldn't delete any entry that was present. (I spent an hour on this and it turned out to be a syntax error...doh)
quickshot0.png

Turns out the [include] variable in MX23-fluxbox-beat1 (points to ~/.fluxbox/submenus/recent_files_menu)
quickshot1.png

whereas the {exclude} variable in MX23-fluxbox-beat1 (points to ~/,fluxbox/scripts/recentfiles_menu)
quickshot2.png

They should both point to ~/.fluxbox/scripts/recentfiles-fbmenu (for it to work).

Code: Select all

[code][submenu] (Recent files)
			[include] ([submenu] (Recent files)
			[include] (~/.fluxbox/scripts/recentfiles-fbmenu)
			[separator]
			[exec] (Update) {~/.fluxbox/scripts/recentfiles-fbmenu}
		[end])
			[separator]
			[exec] (Update) {~/.fluxbox/scripts/recentfiles-fbmenu}
		[end]
[/code]
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.
This is my Fluxbox . There are many others like it, but this one is mine. My Fluxbox is my best friend. It is my life.
I must master it as I must master my life. Without me, my Fluxbox is useless. Without my Fluxbox, I am useless.

Well! I wonder how that snuck in there? I'm a bit confused b/c this is what the script has:

Code: Select all

menupath=~/.fluxbox/submenus/recent_files_menu
Will check--not too late. Thanks.

Hello,
grateful thank you for work on MX23.
I was waiting eagerly since beginning of the year.

One bug report:
On Lenovo ThinkPad Edge, system cannot wake up from sleep (no hibernation).
It seems frozen, no keystroke is registered, and power button press is ignored. The only way is force power off, holding pwrbtn more seconds.

Re: MX-23 beta 1 feedback thread

And another bug after running VeraCrypt GUI, installed from MXPI.

Code: Select all

ASSERT INFO:
./src/common/sizer.cpp(2288): assert "CheckSizerFlags(!((flags) & (wxALIGN_RIGHT | wxALIGN_CENTRE_HORIZONTAL | wxALIGN_BOTTOM | wxALIGN_CENTRE_VERTICAL)))" failed in DoInsert(): wxALIGN_RIGHT | wxALIGN_CENTRE_HORIZONTAL | wxALIGN_BOTTOM | wxALIGN_CENTRE_VERTICAL will be ignored in this sizer: wxEXPAND overrides alignment flags in box sizers

DO NOT PANIC !!

If you're an end user running a program not developed by you, please ignore this message, it is harmless, and please try reporting the problem to the program developers.

You may also set WXSUPPRESS_SIZER_FLAGS_CHECK environment variable to suppress all such checks when running this program.

If you're the developer, simply remove this flag from your code to avoid getting this message. You can also call wxSizerFlags::DisableConsistencyChecks() to globally disable all such checks, but this is strongly not recommended.

BACKTRACE:
[1] wxBoxSizer::DoInsert(unsigned long, wxSizerItem*)
[2] wxEntry(int&, wchar_t**)
[3] __libc_start_main

@Jerry3904 I double checked it by loading the live MX-23-flubox ISO (which is where I got the white images- 2nd and 3rd) in my post.

Seems the [include] variable doesn't exist. "submenus/recent_files_menu"

but the [exec] (Update) does. scripts/recentfiles-fbmenu

Will check--not too late. Thanks.

I suspect that is generated during installation, one reason I want to check the b1.

Are we good to go with the updated mx-idesktool for the b2 or rc, whichever comes next?

Hello dolphin_oracle and Jerry3904
line 510 change to TEXT19
line 511 does that need = an equal sign cause selection? --file-selection="${iconplaceholder}"
