after 10 days of using the mx 23 alpha 2 I have not found any problems.
I removed Firefox, Thunderbird and Transmission from the system. Installed Google Chrome and qbittorrent.

Had a fatal error with my storage media that had Alpha2 installed on it. Cheap USB. Now using SanDisk 16GB Micro SD card, and working like a charm!

I had an extra 16GB DDR4-RAM sitting around for a while, and just installed it. I needed the extra RAM to use the Boot Option "toram" for my relatively large personal snapshots (about 19GB)! Happy to report that the combo of "persist_root" (persistence option) and "toram" (boot option) in the GRUB menu has made life Oh-So-Much-Easier! Thanks for this recommendation by @fehlix

Improvements: Previously (on the cheapo USB and only 16GB RAM -- as opposed to my current config with 32GB RAM), updates took a very long time, and writing the persistence file at shutdown took over an hour. Now, just installed 220 Updates! which took only 10 minutes from start to finish! Even Better: writing the persistence file took 3 Minutes, 9 Seconds!!! (previously took over an hour).

Also, installed Clementine (sorry to not see that as the default), Plank (and fixed the Firefox icon: changed from Cog-Wheel to Orange Firefox icon), modified Firefox a bit, added a few games, etc.

All smooth and clear! So, thanks to all who have helped in developing, maintaining, working-out bugs, etc.!!!

The only issue I have on this machine with Alpha2 is:

When I use MX-Tweak, Other tab, and try to change Password for Administrative Tasks to "Root", the change does not take (after hitting "Apply" and rebooting). When I try to make the change, it asks for the User password; I hit reply; but no change.

It's a very minor issue, and may not be an issue at all once I try to install the OS. That's my next step. Just wanted to know if this is an issue for anyone else. If it's a moot-point after installation, then forget I even mentioned it!

Also, forgot to mention a big improvement for me with Alpha2 (Xfce):

Suspend Works as Intended!!!

Previously, Suspend would leave me with a blank (black) screen upon resume, with no way to get back to the OS / previous state. I would have to do a hard reboot. This problem was solved some time ago by installing "slock", which upon resume is a blank screen, but accepts the user password in a "blind" fashion (nothing is sent to the screen: no dots for chars, etc.). I have been using this method successfully for a good while.

I was pleasantly surprised to see that MX23-Alpha2 works like the old Kernel versions (4.19?), where Suspend properly goes into sleep mode, but upon awakening (key press), the GUI resumes with the Login screen, awaiting username and password!

I will test this working functionality on some of my older machines, as well, and report back.

Pipewire does not detect audio device on MX-23 KDE using Systemd, I had to install pulseaudio for it to work.
When adding or removing programs that come with the iso, it causes the audio to be randomly disabled using Sysvinit. Some programs don't work properly, like plasma-systemmonitor which keeps the running applications part unavailable. Due to this, I removed sysvinit (packages) and installed pulseaudio to run the system with systemd, which runs without apparent problems.

Tried installing MX23-Alpha2 (Xfce) onto this machine (Dell Inspiron 1526), and it seemed to work. But...after shutdown and restart, got "Kernel Panic" ("init" not found). I realize I should have written-down the exact messages--sorry! This occurred three times (three attempts to install). Additionally, for 2 of those installs, I first ran update, which completed successfully. This last attempt (just now), I didn't try the update.

I thought maybe it was a failing hard drive, but I was able to successfully install the latest MX21.3 (May 15, 2023) just now from the monthly snapshot repo. back onto this Dell Inspiron 1526. That's what I am writing from now.

I know that my Live MX23-Alpha2 USB is good, since I have used it to install to other machines.

It may be more useful to post QSI from the Live Alpha2 environment, but here's the QSI from the newly installed (and updated) MX21.3:

If it is best to post QSI from the live env, I can certainly do that (since Alpha2 boots up, I was able to make changes, even get all the updates, etc.)
