I've enabled allowing mounting of internal drives by non-root users in MX Tweaks, logged out and back in. When I click on an encrypted drive or partition it prompts me for the passphrase then nothing happens after I enter it, it just sits there in my home directory. I'm able to manually decrypt and mount them in a terminal. I ran Thunar from a terminal but there was no output or text. The various logs contain no entries which seem to be relevant.
I'm confirming you luks partitions issue. works from command line, does not work from the thunar gui.

more info: thunar can mount once the partition is "opened" with "cryptsetup luksOpen" and can unmount, but can't close the container. there is a udisks error on unmount.

will do.

I think the problem is in udisks2. nemo has same problem, and gives same error.

I can connect directly to my samba shares, but the browse feature does not work (in my case, didn't work under mx17/18 either).
smb:///servername/sharename

I got my samba share to work
, connecting to a windows 7 machine on the network.
I copied the /etc/samba/samba.conf from MX-18.3 over the beta, but still no shares were visible after a reboot.
So unlike MX-18, the file manager does not display of find shares on the network in the beta.

Then, I looked at the formation of the server line in the MX-18.3 and applied that to the beta.

You were right, a working line in the address bar of the file manager is smb://X7/J/ . If I type that in, I can authenticate.

Where X7 is the name of the windows computer, and /J/ is the shared volume.

So, a few days of uptime, no crashes. The samba was the last thing not working for me. I did another synaptic update, 9 more packages.
Many reboots, suspends, packages added, all working so the beta is fast and stable.

 Amazing to see these buster betas so fast and good for antiX and MX 19s. ;)

Apologies if someone already brought these up, but its hard to check this often, and there is a lot of movement from testers and devs.

1) Running the beta in VirtualBox 6, I seem to have an odd random flicker of the XFCE panel and Conky, I assume it is the compositor.
Nothing seems to set it off per say, it does it on its own. I can send the inxi, but its a stock beta install with mostly all defaults in VirtualBox.
I didn't install the extensions directly from VirtualBox, just using what came with the install

But besides the default I set:
Para-Virt Interface - KVM
Video memory - 32MB
Enabled 3d Acceleration

2) The beta seems to default to to a gigantic mouse icon size, under "Mouse and Touchpad" it doesn't seem to be lowered below size 16.

3) MX Package Installer doesn't seem to like me clicking the "Debian Backports" tab, it dumps back to "Popular Applications"... although this could be because nothing exists in it?

4) This is a long shot request, but it seems that DockBarX and the XFCE plugin haven't been brought over to 4.14. I would really appreciate it if its possible to have this on MX, as it was the simplest and best way to add a dock directly to the XFCE panel. Should I put a Package Request in for this instead?

5) I thought I saw that in MX-18.3 had OBS-Studio version 23 (Stable Repo) and version 22 was in the Test Repo. Wasn't sure if I was losing my mind or just too tired at the time, but MX-19 beta only has version 22.
Will it be possible to have OBS 23 in MX-19 at some point?

Other than all of that it seems really really good, booted painlessly via live USB on 3 different systems and VirtualBox!

Now that Debian has updated their upstream version to 23.2.1, I'll give it a try tomorrow.

Thanks Stevo, you're the best!

But no rush really, in time for MX-19 official release would be great, even after is good.
Ya'll do an awesome job keeping all the different wanted applications updated.

Also, is it possible to not have Onboard as a dependency for lightdm-gtk-greeter-mx19?

Not that it affects anything, just asking for those of us who go a little overboard slimming down the already slim MX base install.
