It's kind of a nuisance when looking for a particular persons post, especially if the thread is quite long.
I also notice what I feel to be a grammatical error in the User Control Panel, under Board preferences » Edit global settings it reads: "Notify me PM if someone thanks my post.:". Shouldn't that read "Notify me by PM if someone thanks my post.:"?

You mean from the search function? If you click on "jump to post" you are taken to the post. Or click on the post subject.
Yes grammatical error. I do not know how easy that is to fix. Maybe Karen can take a look at it, at her leisure. Very low priority with her workload as it is.

Editing a file is not so difficult, however there are over 150 files in phpBB and finding the one you need to edit is not always easy.

I guess I was mistaken. Looking at another persons profile, it shows "Search user’s posts", so that's great. What I was trying to share, was when you click on "View your posts" at the top of the page, it will show all of your threads, not posts. I mistakenly assumed it was the the same under another's profile. I should have looked further

Just sharing, adding it to the list;)
I did notice while trying to look at your profile, I couldn't just click on your name in your post. I had to go out and search for you. It was nice to be able to just click on a persons name in their post. Another thing to consider adding to the list;)

Yes I noticed that too in posts. Frorm thread lists though you can go to the users profile by clicking on the author or last posted by. So you could click on the forum the post in the breadcrumbs at the top of the list, and get to the thread list without having to do a search. Just requires one extra click.

That's only helpful on recent threads and on the thread author or last post author. If I'm in an older thread, that doesn't really work. Unless I'm not following what you're saying

OK, so I guess I'm not following how you got there. Let alone in 2 clicks as you indicated is possible. And it still doesn't help getting to a users profile from the middle of a thread.
Let's say I'm in this thread:
http://forum.mepiscommunity.org/viewtop ... 10&t=19930, and I'm reading along, and come to the post by Adrian asking to be PMed
http://forum.mepiscommunity.org/viewtop ... 21#p203921. How would you get to his profile? Does your method still work there? Is it still 2 clicks? How much scrolling?
Mind you, I'm not trying to be argumentative here. Just trying to understand how you got to where you were. It's not a problem copying the user name and doing a search. It's just not as convenient as before.
Al
Here's something else I just ran into when quoting your post: "You may embed only 3 quotes within each other." Again, not a problem, but a difference. I don't think the old forum even carried over previous quotes when quoting a post. Al

A general comment: We are being cautious about adding modules or making very many code changes. Modules can have undesirable interactions, as can code changes. So we are assessing changes and will implement those that are absolutely necessary to give functions that the team agrees cannot be lived without. If you have been around since the board went live you will see many changes already implemented, 19 to be exact.
We will continue to review and assess suggestions for change, so do not feel you have to suppress your ideas. But do not feel slighted if the decision is made not to implement the change.

@bigboppercole
loco pointed out an easier way that I overlooked. When in a post click on the profile button at the bottom of the post. It brings up the posters profile. so all that wordiness I posted was completely unnecessary.

Well, there you go;) Just different.
You know, I've noticed those icons down there before, but when I was looking how to get to the profile, I completely missed them
I still don't understand what you meant by breadcrumbs
