Did you read this? It's not about being in the same folder it's about having them registered with fontconfig (not sure if accurate but that's what I got when I searched for the issue):

"Because Conky (with use_xft = true) only sees fonts that are registered with fontconfig. It won’t load a .ttf just because it’s in the same folder."
I did, quickly. Didn't totally understand it and I'm working outdoors this afternoon. Can you see how Conky Manager is doing it?
That's OK, I checked with dolphin_oracle, the files just need to be copied or linked to ~/.fonts (which is what conky-manager seems to be doing) so it should be an easy fix.
Mighty awesome, thanks for staying with this. You too, DO

Had the same problem with my custom conky using FontAwesome and Armata. After I installed the fonts system wide, it worked.
(testing KDE beta in VM, should have more "real" feedback until the end of the week)

That's what installing conky-manager has done by itself, in some way.
Now running a conky file/template through mx-tools-conky works fine.

Maybe it's relying on a icon set that is not installed in KDE, but I'm not going to install any extra icon sets only to make a conky work.
@Adrian Apparently MX-Conky isn't picking up the fonts that come with the conky's. Same thing happens with MX-25 XFCE beta. Here's an example.

The fonts for the icons are in the MX-Flair folder. Dingytwo.ttf and GeosansLight.ttf

AHS svinit Xfce -Re: MX 25 Beta 1 Feedback thread

#217 Post by entropyfoe »

Sorry I am late to this wonderful party. I have eagerly awaited the first beta. It is great, as usual, a very usable beta, great so far, except I have had two glitches.
The first one, the night of the install, it was getting late, so I passed it off as something I did carelessly. During normal gui actions, I found myself suddenly logged out. I logged back in and used the system yesterday, did all synaptic updates, and when I closed synaptic, I again found my self logged out. I logged back in, sure enough the whole session ended. No apps open, when I opened firefox , I was offered to restore the session, which I did, and all was OK.

I am catching up on this lengthy thread, any other glitches reported?

So, some history, and the system.

This is my new Ryzen system, which had >47 days flawless uptime (no unexpected log outs !) before I decided to install the beta. I downloaded the iso for the xfce, svinit, AHS version.
the sha256 checked, so I burned it to my tested USB 4G stick with the MX Live USB Creator tool. I booted it, it verified the media, and I installed. All in all the usual quick process, though I forgot again, my second time to enable the existing swap partition.

This is my testing configuration. I have 3 partitions, a classic Warren install, MX-23.6 AHS
/
swap
/home

Then I have a fourth partition which I install versions to test, grub to PBR. I then update grub in the first partition.
This gives a stable 23.6 I can go back to easily when logging in, while offering a full install for testing. Also great for testing and comparison, like benchmarks etc. Same hardware, just a software difference.

The on chip Radeon graphics worked easily with the install automatically.
Sound, internet, all works OTB. I took all synaptic upgrades, and ran the great uip tool, flawlessly installing all my programs. So far I haven't had anything that won't work yet, though I am doing more testing. Just those 2 log outs.

A great effort by the dev team ! :number1:

The fonts for the icons are in the MX-Flair folder. Dingytwo.ttf and GeosansLight.ttf
For the fonts, you can create a folder into your: /home/user1/.fonts/
... and put inside : Dingytwo.ttf and GeosansLight.ttf ( It works for my conky here with the font: Hack Regular Nerd Font Complete.ttf )

That font issue should already be fixed in mx-conky 25.09.4, no need to talk about it here anymore.
