(QSI in post #3)

Simple fix for the missing Installer icon on the desktop for both fluxbox ISO's.

The gazelle.lnk file (~/.idesktop) has the icon path pointing to a location not there.

Code: Select all

table Icon
  Caption: Install MX
  Icon: /usr/local/share/icons/black-eclipse-no-border.png
  X: 300
  Y: 200
  Command[0]: ideskrun minstall-launcher
  Command[1]: mx-idesktool gazelle.lnk
  Command[2]: mx-manual
end

If I edit the file and point it to /usr/share/icons and refresh the desktop, the installer icon shows up.
This is my Fluxbox . There are many others like it, but this one is mine. My Fluxbox is my best friend. It is my life.
I must master it as I must master my life. Without me, my Fluxbox is useless. Without my Fluxbox, I am useless.

Thanks. It was late last night when I grabbed them and didn't read through the whole blog.
No biggie, I just wanted to replace the Deb13 partitions with the beta's before going to bed.

12h/24h display is based on locale "language" settings -not on timezone. If a user wants to have en_US language but the time display in 24h,
change of a locale category for Date&Time which displays in English date strings for month/weekday but uses 24h clock.
The only LC (locale categories) I know which offers this is English for Ireland.
Open MX Locale and under 2nd tab select for Date&Time en_IE.UTF-8 for English in Ireland locale.
After logout/login, conky and I guess most other date&time related displays would change to 24h in English.

Installation failed on the existing MX23.6 partition.
I don't have the installation logs.
The installer wasn't able to configure the efi-boot.
My PC:

Processors: 4 × Intel® Core™ i3-6100 CPU @ 3.70GHz
Memory: 16 GiB of RAM (15.3 GiB usable)

I'll wait for the final release.
Do share your QSI from the computer you want to install on. IF it is this one, then this one.

Better to help troubleshoot.

Edit: I prepared a new partition on my PC, formatted with ext4
The installation of MX25-beta-xfce was successfull.

I have no idea, why the replacing of the existing MX23.6-xfce partition failed.
The problem is solved.
I don't intend to try the replacement of the existing partition. Will use that partition after the final release of MX25 for some other Distro.

Regular install using whole NVMe drive, no encryption nor hibernate (my choice).
Working fine so far, good work Devs, thank you.
I love the wallpaper selection too, but my only question is why the background chooser defaults to the XFCE backgrounds directory?
