Code: Select all

rm ~/.config/xfce4/xfconf/xfce-perchannel-xml/pointers.xml
logout, login.
I will have to do what you are suggesting using the corded mouse as I have no other way to launch Xfce Terminal.
After I do the logout/login, I should shut down the PC, install the dongle of my wireless mouse, and then reboot. Is that the plan?
So the OS will automatically detect the wireless mouse and I don't have to install any drivers, etc., right?
Sorry, but I am a recreational user of Linux, not an expert. Just want to make sure that I understand the details.
Thanks.
Yes, that's right, as the mouse drivers are already built into the Linux kernel (the "engine" of the operating system). Like I've repeated, it takes just a minute to test that by creating another user with MX User Manager in MX Tools. I don't understand your reluctance.

Don't delete your regular user just to see what happens, though. Bad idea.
MXPI = MX Package Installer
QSI = Quick System Info from menu
The MX Test repository is mostly backports; not the same as Debian testing

My mouse has stopped working. (Logitech M325, wireless)
This happened after I was experimenting and moved the slide (turned it off) that is located to the right of Settings -> Mouse and Touchpad -> Devices tab -> Device pulldown menu.
After I did that, the mouse froze.
I have rebooted and the mouse works up to and including the login screen. After that the mouse freezes.
I have switched to a corded mouse and it works just fine...
Hope that somebody knows how to fix this issue.
Most Xfce menus and settings can be used without mouse, just with keyboard including turning off/on the mouse:

-> Press/tab the Super-key (normally the one with the Win-logo)
-> at the opened Whisker menu type "mouse" into the search field:Mouse_Touchpad.jpg
->Press Enter to open Mouse & Touchpad
-> Hold-Alt key: accelerator keys are visible with underlined char
e.g for Devices tab press "d" when holding the Alt-key
or go to the drop-down "Device" menu to select the mouse-device with pressing "v" when holding the Alt-key
(or alternatively just press on tab-key to go to the drop-down selection field.)
Mouse_Touchpad-Device+Hold-Alt.jpg
-> The device drop-down menu can be shown with press on [space-bar], navigation to select
the correct device with arrow-down/up and [Enter] or [space-bar] to select:Mouse_Touchpad-Device+Spacebar-orArrow-keys.jpg
-> From drop-down you go the the On/Off toggle button with tab-key, and toggle/switch on/of with [space-bar] again.
Thats it.
A big thank you for your suggestion! I followed your instructions and now my wireless mouse works again.
