Is E Wayland aware yet, which means able to run under Wayland?
Apparently it's had Wayland sessions available for quite some time!
I suppose this thread is Solved for now, since it's backported for the test repo?

Oh just curious as I plan to give E a try.

Other than some ArchWiki stuff there is almost no info about using Enlightenment out there and even less about using it with Wayland.. You can speak with the E developer directly on their #e IRC channel but it's hit and miss to find him.
My understanding is that in E-19 a few years back Wayland session stuff was started and it's seen slow development, from spotty sources it seems the wayland session is not accessible from the Login Manager although there is a note in the last release about it being accessible through GDM, whether that also applies to lightDM or SDDM is unknown. If it doesn't appear in the Display Manager then you have to start a Wayland session from the command line. Lastly, there is a 'Wayland Desktop Shell' module in Enlightenment that I would guess needs to be loaded before using Wayland in a session. There are some notes at enlightenment.org about Wayland and nVidia potentially not playing nice together as well.

I got Wayland working on my big rig running unstable that has an nVidia card which entailed installing the 565.77 version drivers. Might test E there.

I can see its Wayland session in KDE's sddm, but haven't tested it yet.

Let us know when you think it will be ready to move into main, and everyone gets the upgrade...

Still doing some testing here, there are some subtle changes and the new external Places module segfaults with 0.27 (if you don't use AVL or don't use the module this doesn't matter). I don't
really code and EFL code is extremely complex but I actually have one of the Bodhi Linux devs looking into a fix for Places so hopefully it will get fixed in the next few days and then work for any and all MX E Users. I'm also getting the old and broken Weather Forecast module looked at but I'm quitting after that, there are dozens of unmaintained modules bit rotting in Enlightenment's GIT Repo and most of them are pretty subtle and Conkii handle the tasks more gracefully..
I will say the Moksha Bodhi Linux guys are much more err... uhm... 'accommodating' than upstream E... I think an experimental Moksha/MX hybrid ISO is going back on the test bench this winter!

There are instructions for installing latest Moksha on Debian Bookworm on this page. It's a link to a script. Apparently Enlightenment can't be installed at the same time.
