Hello!
What is the right way to do updates in MX Linux KDE 64 bits?
Would it be through Discover or through commands?
I didn't find the MX-Updater icon on the MX KDE panel.

Thanks!

I don't use KDE, but you can just click on the green updater icon in the panel and let it run the updates.

Ok, I understand! In the case of MX KDE, which already comes with Discover, I will do the updates with this tool.

It is green when updates are available. Otherwise it is an outline of an open box.

Which of the two in MX KDE do you use to do the updates? Discover or MX Updater?

You should use what you are most comfortable with. So.. try both and decide. What someone else uses doesn't matter.

I will answer. I use MX Package Installer. I only use Discover when I have downloaded user contributed images, icons and other appearance addons. These are contributed by KDE users who are not necessarily MX users so are not available in MXPI.

There is no need to really pick one, like.. on xfce here. I use mxpi for installing new things. Upgrading and removal is done with Synaptic. Just the way it works best for me :)

Exactly. I prefer nala in a terminal so that is what I use on all three of my desktops (fluxbox, XFCE and KDE).

Thanks for the tip, from what you explained it would be good to use MX Updater to make the updates.

In Discover, when there are new updates, an icon appears on the panel with a message: Security updates available.
Does a message also appear in MX Updater when there are new updates?
Sorry for so many questions.

Yes a message will appear that updates are available. And as before indicated the panel icon will turn a solid green.
Best thing is to use the system and see what it does.
