Did not do any further tests on MX, but I can do on the weekend, when I have access to the PC. Currently running Fedora 39, because this worked out of the box.

at post 17 it was not clear that my suggestion was the solution which is why at post 20 Stevo asked for clarification.
I too, being a simple person was not sure.....but if in fact you have indeed done the FW download, ignore my comment about using Fedora's FW as you already have the most recent working FW.

If what I just wrote in not correct feel free to be more explicit
