Maybe it hasn’t been addressed yet since only so many things can get fixed in one month across all MX versions?

Maybe it’s a KDE issue, not an MX issue?

Any reason no one has identified the exact cause and let us know?
its not default in debian. we had patched the network-manager clients under mx19, but the same patches don't work this time.
Thanks for the explanation. That's all I was wondering about. Didn't intend to offend. I suspect this will be an ongoing irritant for every new MX user who installs for the first time and hasn't been following along.

For auto connecting wifi, in the network settings enable "All users may connect to this network"
This was reported by multiple users in the Beta. Any reason it's not been addressed with the RC?
It's a root setting that works through the KDE Systemsettings5 which, unusually, doesn't require a password. It's also part of KDE rather than MX itself, though, through other distros, I can tell you that the global network manager (as used with the XFCE version) will work instead of the KDE one, and may be more intuitive, though you won't be able to change its settings in Systemsettings5.

The only suggestion I can think of is some sort of message on screen not to forget to set it globally in the Systemsettings5.
no need to be root, the network profiles should be on a user basis. the value to set is availabe in the connection editor via the "configure" option in the tray icon.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

@davemx I've got both skype and the freetube flatpak running on a KDE/RC1 install. Not sure what's going on your with setup but you got a lot of weird issues.

Installed the MX-21.0rc1 into the root of the Thinkpad, I thought, but apparently wasn't paying enough attention.
Formatted my permanent home. Thankfully it was all more or less backed up. It's a good opportunity to cleanup. :)
I have been an Xfce user since KDE-4 was released. Learning the MX setup of KDE-5 Plazma and KDE.
It is a very complete environment. All running well.

That works for me, it starts ksnip when I press Print. Might be a keyboard layout issue maybe? Do you have a special layout that needs to be set?

There was always a problem with screen rotation/touch and I had to install scripts (and shortcuts) for it to work.
So I installed plasma-workspace-wayland and rotation works! I also installed iio-sensor-proxy and qml-module-qtsensors.
Grub: not rotated
Startup messages + splash screen: rotation OK
Login screen: not rotated (but not relevant in my case due to autologin)
Shutdown messages + screen: rotation OK

No Wayland errors so far... although there are some unexplained glitches like weird timeouts and a couple of really long shutdowns, and some MX Tools don't work.
Package Installer and Boot Options don't start, but Tweak works. I also tried System Locales which doesn't work, but dpkg-reconfigure locales in the Konsole works.

Another problem (not resolved) is this unsupported webcam. I will post details to the hardware section.
I have another USB webcam which worked before :)

On that note, it seems some packages are missing from the MX Package Installer. Notably Steam (can be installed via the Popular Applications tab though) and VeraCrypt. Synaptic's not installed either, though I'm not sure if that's intended or not. Doing an apt-get install for VeraCrypt also results in it finding nothing.

By the way, no, I didn't touch the default respositories.
