A lot of time and work was spent getting antiX-15 (Killah P) ready for stable release; we hope you like it.

As with previous releases, antiX-15 comes in 3 flavours for 32 and 64 bit processors all fitting on a cd.
antiX-full (667MB) -4 windows managers - IceWM(default), fluxbox, jwm and herbstluftwm
antiX-base (567MB) -3 windows managers - fluxbox(default), jwm and herbstluftwm
antiX-core-libre (222MB) - no X. Just enough to get you connected (wired) and ready to build.

antiX-base and antiX-core versions use gzip compression of the squashfs/linuxfs file which means a faster boot
to desktop with less RAM usage, but file size is approximately 80MB larger. antiX-full uses xz compression.

antiX has been designed to be fast, light on resources and flexible.

Install it to harddrive, run it live from a stick or run as a frugal install on a partion.

Want to run antiX on a usb device with persistence?
antiX does this simply and effectively.

Want to remaster your running live system?
antiX makes this easy.

Want to create an iso file of your installed to hard drive system?
Yes, antiX has this feature too.

Want to run live on a box with UEFI bootloader?
antiX can do this.

The choice is yours!

The Crete mirror is now populated:

http://ftp.cc.uoc.gr/mirrors/linux/mxlinux/MX-krete/

NOTE: the file for the md5sum of the antiX-15-V_386-core-libre.iso is now correct.

The 386-core-libre.iso is the wrong size. It should be c 220MB
The others look ok though.

I'm sure it will get uploaded soon.

Thanks, did not notice that. For some reason, though we have a 5-min cron job on the rsync server, we have an incomplete version there. We knew that if a file were changed without a change in title the rsync server would not know about it, and assume that our cron job caught that file in partial upload. We will look to see if file size is included in the Sourceforge rss file, and introduce a check into the script sometime this week.

We have deleted it from the rsync server and have repopulated the mirror, where it now reads correctly 222mb. Crete mirror has changed to an 8-hr cron job, so it will get there in the near future.

OK, all good to go now.

Do we have a volunteer to seed torrents?

I think if you re-post that in the Torrent Teamforum you might get a speedier response.

Okay, I will start seeding. I am starting with full-x64 then full-386 working my way down to core-386.

Edit: correct the order.

Point me to the torrents and I'll be happy to seed.

Is there a xdelta patch available to bring the antiX-15-rc1.1-V_386-full.iso iso up to the final release iso (antiX-15-V_386-full.iso) ?
I imagine that rc1.1 is 99% (or more) identical to the final release iso.

Downloading & seeding as we speak. Will keep seeding on and off for as long as it takes to get more seeders to join up.

I will also. Though I have some maintenance work to do first. It shouldn't take long.

I've got 'em all downloaded and seeding but no leechers at the moment. I see it's up on DistroWatch, so if they can find the links to the torrent from there, I suspect there will be some traffic before long.

I seem to be being blocked at LinuxTracker. I'm withdrawing.

@lucky9, I find the Linux Tracker interface to be highly unintuitive. For example, after getting to the antiX-15-V_x64-full.iso linked to above, I then need to click on the "antiX-15-V_x64-full.iso" link in order to get to the page that lets me download the torrent file.

I've also attached a small tarball that contains all six .torrent files.

That's why we have a section in the Manual and D_O's video on the topic!

It was useful! I ended up using mktorrent to create the torrent files but the instructions in the documentation made clear what I needed to do. Thanks!

Uploaded to the sourceforge download site.
The delta patch is only 36 MB.

I don't torrent all the time. But did not have problems last time. I use QBittorent. I dl'd the file BitJam and that should take care of the interference problem. Thanks.

EDIT: All six up and running

WOW!! Downloads for 7 days since release:

11,711

What I find interesting is that the download rate has been approximately constant over the past 3 days, hovering around 940. That includes md5 downloads but when you add in the bittorrent downloads, it cancels out so the numbers in that graph are very close the combined iso downloads from SourceForge and LinuxTracker.

It's also fun to watch our hits-per-day on distrowatch temporarily climb upward. We're at #15 for the past month and #24 for the past three months. If we keep MX and antiX combined over at distrowatch and we make a solid and timely MX-15 release then we have a shot at being near the top-20 for the year 2015, or at least the 2nd half of 2015.

And I have been estimating a conservative 10 per day for the Crete mirror.

I'm sure a big selling point is that it is systemd-free.

There will be a certain group of users who will want to check it out to see if it works well. Devuan seems to be nowhere ready yet.

Does this count the torrent?

Re: antiX-15 released

by BitJam
When I checked yesterday there were 797 iso files downloaded via the torrents at linuxtracker.org and there were 674 .md5 files downloaded at SourceForge. To a good first approximation these two cancel each other out so the total numbers at SourceForge reflect the total number of iso files downloading included those downloaded via the linuxtracker.org torrents. To be more precise, add 123 to the total but that is at the one percent level.
