Here are my impressions after a week of daily usage on my Lenovo Y50-70
It was a clean install on a new SSD (I kept the old one for... you know, just in case).
Some fine tuning (themes, icons, boot...), replaced Clementine with Audacious, disabled Discover, installed Synaptic and apt-notifier
Also installed additional browsers (Chromium, Falkon), IM (Skype, Caprine, Zoom) and dev environment (Codium, MySQL Workbench, Azure Data Studio)
Tranferred settings from the old install (for selected applications only) and VMs
And here we are... I really like this new release. Everything in KDE RC1 is running fine so far except for some early signs of dementia. No shaking, just forgetting things. For example it doesn't remember passwords for VPN and WiFi if I don't enter them in Network Manager widnow (same with KRDC). However it doesn't forget the history although I told it to do so. Funny. Forgets it should forget. Wait, what?
There were also those weird things with missing shutdown/reload icons in start menu, and some persistance was needed to set the correct background image for login and locked screen. KDE Connect also misbehaves sometimes (not pausing playback during calls, not showing phone battery in systray's "Battery and brightness")
And another thing(ie) - I have to paste QSI before closing the terminal otherwise its forgotten :) I don't know if this is a normal behaviour or not, but writing it down anyway.
However nothing critical, it's just great!

Oh, and just a side note... I already mentioned that I installed KDE RC1 on Asus 2in1 and I had to change X to Wayland because of its support for rotating screens and touch. It still works without crashes, but it's been used for simple tasks only (Skype, emails, some browsing, music).
XFCE installs following in the next week (or two) on the kids' laptops. Will report (in the XFCE topic).
