How can you make all the windows have the same color of the chosen theme? Some applications appear with a white background when using dark themes.

Perhaps try this line wunning within the konsole opend as normal user:

Code: Select all

sudo bash -c "lookandfeeltool -a $(grep -oP 'LookAndFeelPackage=\K.*' ~/.config/kdeglobals) 2>/dev/null"
It's set the theme for GUI's app running as root the same as for the user.

JayM wrote: Fri Jul 24, 2020 3:33 am The fcitx keyboard shortcuts are probably just a matter of mapping them in Plasma, but I have no idea how as I'm an Xfce kind of guy. Perhaps this will help? https://www.addictivetips.com/ubuntu-li ... -plasma-5/
I solved the fcitx issue, by installing sogoupinyin:
http://cdn2.ime.sogou.com/dl/index/1571 ... _amd64.deb

I think this package installed some neccessary depencies for fcitx and make it work.

JayM wrote: Fri Jul 24, 2020 3:12 am I'm not SwampRabbit, but issues specifically with the KDE beta 2 belong here. As far as the Nvidia driver installation problem goes, normally it would go in the MX KDE forum after it gets created which will be after that version of MX is officially released, but meanwhile I guess it also goes here?

It would be helpful if, when you're on the machine with the Intel/Nvidia combo, you described the issue in some detail including which Nvidia driver you selected, and if you posted the Quick System Info from that machine.

I applied the line from Konsole and even restarted and changed the theme but I get the same result of white background in dark themes.

It worked for me. You can also try

Code: Select all

sudo systemsettings5
and make the changes in GUI
Is it possible it didn't work for you because you didn't have a /root/.config/kdeglobals file yet? I simply don't know if the command creates the file if it isn't there (edit: I tested this and it also works for me when after deleting /root/.config/kdeglobals)

It works with the line you suggested but now I have 2 colors.

Is the color scheme set to KvBrown when you open system settings with sudo?

It shall work for system white available themes, which are placed with /usr/share/plasma/lookandfeel, not for user only themes placed under ~/.local/share/plasma/lookandfeel
You can list available themes like this for the user

Code: Select all

lookandfeeltool --list
and for root

Code: Select all

mx-pkexec lookandfeeltool --list
And it would only apply the provided theme definition, not any other manually applied themings.

There may still be different color schemes if you only change lookandfeel
