using KDE version. Can not get syanptics touchpad driver to work on this version. I prefer it to libinput as it allows touchpad to be disabled when mouse is plugged in. I can use touchpad indicator an do similar but prefer synaptics.

Not clear what you mean with not being able to get it to work, but dId you already try the toggle in MX Tweak > Other tab?

Hi Jerry,
Thanks for the reply. I simply mean the under system setting in KDE Hardware, Input devices, touchpad it will not give the option for disabling touchpad when mouse is plugged in.
Normally with some other distros if I install synaptics touchpad driver from repositories and reboot it then allow this function, but on Beta 2 it does not change anything and it's not offered.
I don't see anything on my install in tweaks that seems to do that either. I tried the setting use intel drivers but all that did was cause my screen to flash. In any event touchpad-indicator works.
But there should be a way to get synaptics working also. I understand this may be a KDE problem and no MX.

trying to copy to the Ventoy:

1 the snapshot finished very fast ... (?)

2 when copy to the ventoy and openned the app to start with the system in ventoy:

Fatal Error:

Could not find file antiX/linufs

Edit:

Instead now I copy it to a USB and it comes out correctly, so the snapshot did its job well, the problem is when copying it to ventoy.

Failure to format EFI-Partition

#188 Post by Frankarnold »

A very simple setup: Just one 64GB eMMC, regular install using the entire disk:
failed to format efi-partition, formatting stops at 11% or 12%
MX-21 ahs: tried N times, never worked, same result with custom install, WHEREAS:
all others did full install with no problem: Win10, Win11, Fedora37, Fedora38, Ubuntu Mint etc.
MX-23-2 beta installed - finally - on 3rd attempt.
Does this make any sense ?

@keos
You will need to download the ventoy-linux patch.
Once downloaded and unarchived open terminal in folder of unzipped archive and run

Code: Select all

sudo sh Ventoy2Disk.sh -u /dev/sdX
where X is the target USB.

The -u switch is for upgrade...it doesn't touch the partition of ISOs.

Dear Developers,
I think that the bug below may still be confirmed in Beta 2. The icon for the installed package of Firefox is concealed.
