Indeed, but I'm afraid I have to agree with her.

I would prefer if details were given. Respectfully, comments like this do not help us to make improvements.

If you want to create a poll to register a simple like dislike, or similar words it would be appropriate to gauge overall satisfaction. But again details would be appreciated.

Ok, so I read through all the posts in this thread and did not see a solution to this, so I am going to attempt to explain what I have discovered and hopefully will help those who desire to have a post # to reference to.

If you hover your cursor over the page icon, located at the top left corner of the message box next to the right arrow that points to the post title you will see that in (at least Opera shows at the bottom of the page the address for that specific post, for example:

Code: Select all

http://forum.mepiscommunity.org/viewtopic.php?p=254960#p254960
In Opera if you right click while hovering on the post icon you can copy the link address of that particular post and can then refer to that particular post for reference for the future or can use it to point that particular post out to someone, aka the old post # at the old mepislovers forum,
a little convoluted yes, but doable and useful.

I will test this out with Firefox and Chrome later.

Edit: Ok, this works in FF also and richb verified works in Chrome too.

cheers,
ohh

Good tip! Works the same in Google Chrome.

EDIT:If you would be willing, why don't you write this as a How To, and post it in the How-To's Forum.

If you hover your cursor over the page icon
You can do the same on the "Quote" button to the right, it's larger in size and easier to find. Some other buttons will give you the same information.
Thanks for the tip, shows there are so many possibilities in the new forum.

We are looking for a mod that will add the post number. So far all we have found simply add a 1, 2, 3 post number to a thread. There is a lot of information on the phpBB website, it is not always easy to find what you are looking for.

Re:Oldhogheads Post.

When using Firefox 4 the "post address" appears in the right side of the address bar when using the mouse over. Not that easy to spot as it's faded out.
