chromium data point: you don't actually have to start chromium before a reboot does any good. upon an immediate reboot from desktop, chromium starts right up the first time.

next data point: launching chromium the first time using the basic password store intead of the defualt keyring works.
so I'm kind of leaning towards something wrong with the keyring rather than chromium, either with the display of the keyring prompt, or the actual keyring itself on first login.

That's interesting, wasn't even on my radar. Wonder what RPi OS is using--over I go.

Re: MX-23 Rpi Respin -- Beta testing
restarting the gnome-keyring-daemon with
is enough to keep chromium launching.
So I'm surmising that there is some setup step that needs done after the user is logged in that might not be occurring. will investigate options, but I think light is at the end of the tunnel.
Code: Select all
gnome-keyring-daemon --replace

Re: MX-23 Rpi Respin -- Beta testing
Good sleuthing, I'm starting to hope. Weird that is showed up so late in Development.

Re: MX-23 Rpi Respin -- Beta testing
didn't switch to chromium until relatively late. and even then, I wasn't usually launching the web browser on the first boot until we added the video link. just glad you mentioned it.

Me too. A bit of serendipity always makes Development go round, huh?
