How to Update MX-18 to MX-21  [Solved]

Help for Current Versions of MX
When asking for help, use Quick System Info from MX Tools. It will be properly formatted using the following steps.
1. Click on Quick System Info in MX Tools
2. Right click in your post and paste.

In Linux, newer isn't always better. The best solution is the one that works.

Once you are back in and have your user and root passwords again, it MIGHT be an idea to actually start using the root password for when it asks for the root password. You can change that behavior back to what you were used to.

When you start MX Tweak, and then go to the last tab, Other, in the bottom it says: password for administrative tasks: user / root.

You'll want to check root there instead of user.

Of course if it is easier for you to just use your user password for everything, just leave things alone. I, personally, found using the user pass for root stuff very confusing.

Yep (...then click "Apply"). You can do the same for root if you like while you're at it (if you forgot that, too).
