@Jerry, i used following script in conky to draw the MX distro & session details:

Do you have a recipe for your Wayland/Weston setup that you can share? Doesn't have to be on this thread, though. I suggest starting a "How to Wayland in MX" thread. Also, have you tried other standard MX apps besides a terminal to see if they work?
