... In case (hopefully) the installation finishes successfully, don't forget to detach the usb stick before the reboot (it'll tell you that).

(Otherwise it'll boot the live usb rather than the installed MX on hdd)

I always close the installer properly, and shut the system down. Then once off I remove the USB, and then start things up again. That way I know 100% certain that I have taken it out at a proper time :)

Can I still check Auto login?

Yep, me, too, exactly ( @Eadwine Rose )

@Gigahenry007 Yep, just check it but also set pw. both for root and user (they can be the same if you like, to not forget the root's later)

Success! Thank You beyond words... It seems in this case there was something "buggy" in the Installer.?
I'd like use Google Chrome if possible? If I knew what features Chromium aka Slimjet offers in comparison I wouldn't mind a browser that is lighter resource wise.
I do use Google Voice to make rare calls but mostly so that I can text people using the computer instead of a cell.
I assume if I do install Google Chrome it will be saved correct?
Must admit this has been quite an adventure and I am amazed how you get so refined at this. Whats the secrets?
There are 23 Updates showing and assume I need to install them
Sincerely Yours,

Yes, of course you can install whatever you like :)

Both GParted and MX Installer "Custom" were able to format with no issues.

So, I still guess there might be a bug about the auto-installer, cause the partition was still labelled MX18 and the other one was unknown etc...

Yep, update all :)

In fact, my plan was a bit different, I just wanted to not confuse you more and more..

Any time you like we can create a swap partition (just in case) and more important, we can scan the partition (but since it's about 600 GB it'll take "hours" , that's why I was thinking about a small partition :) )

I can't Authenticate the upgrade with demo or root. Says it a failure using either of those

No, it's your user pw. now on the installed system (the one you entered during installation)

(demo and root are just on live session, with the official iso)

Let's say your user name is ralph :

Enter ralph's pw.
