Thanks Adrian for that, tried on my laptop and it worked as expected.. hooked up an hdmi cable to my monitor and tried again.. same issue.. here is the QI maybe you can spot something there.. Monitor is a 4k ASUS 28" VP28UQG if that makes any difference :)Adrian wrote: Tue Apr 11, 2023 11:42 amQSI from MX-21.3 would help.Racer24 wrote: Tue Apr 11, 2023 11:35 am So far for me after many attempts I still have not seen the alpha completely booting.. first few times I tried it got part way then errored out stating it could not find the kernel and left me with continue, reboot, and something else for options.. changed the usb I was using 3rd fresh download and.. looked like it was all doing things, then black screen with computer still running fine keyboard responding etc.. Im using an Nvidia 3060ti on a displayport connection here, have not tried running an hdmi cable yet.. but I will keep trying unless anyone has a better idea :)
can't gather a quick info for obvious reasons lol or it would be posted here (well, I wouldn't actually have to post :) )
I'm using MX usb creator
You might not need another download, try a different flashdrive (also try the one you created on a different computer if you have access to one to get an idea if there's a hardware incompatibility or a problem with the flashdrive).

yep, true. looks like clicking the button doesn't actually disable messages. maybe it only works with gnomes notification daemon, I don't know.Jerry3904 wrote: Tue Apr 11, 2023 4:18 pm Someone reported earlier that clicking the internet connection notification to "never show this message again" -- has no effect. Just want to repeat this Xfce4 failure.
currently the icon size in the system tray is set to automatically adjust with panel size. this has not been the case in the past, where we had them hard locked to a certain size. (22, always a smidge smaller than the panel icons). the icon size can still be set in the system tray settings, if you want to play with those.Jerry3904 wrote: Tue Apr 11, 2023 4:15 pm Back to my "systray" problems, now on Installed HP Elitebook. Did some testing, and find:
1) that the BT icon is too small, smaller than anything else
2) that the Updater icon "pulse" is too big, wider than anything else
3) that the mixture of icon typer increases the perception of chaotic sizes
--I moved the battery above the actual systray > less chaos
--I introduced a separator at the upper end of the systray to signal that the others were "not the same"
The result is a significant improvement for my critical eye on this machine, and may be useful for discussion
BTW: the image below shows the Updater icon in black but I have set it repeatedly under "preferences" to white; not sure that is working correctly
The pulse updater icons may need some updating to work at higher resolution? It's still a small size and in PNG while even our wireframe updater icons have been updated in size and to SVG.Jerry3904 wrote: Tue Apr 11, 2023 4:15 pm Back to my "systray" problems, now on Installed HP Elitebook. That would help, I think.also, the power manager systray icon appears to work again, so we could take that particular plugin off the panel
Choose the option that has actual black inside the empty box, but make sure you enable the option to make the interior transparent.Jerry3904 wrote: Tue Apr 11, 2023 4:15 pm ...
