MX-21 fluxbox beta 1 feedback thread.
Re: MX-21 fluxbox beta 1 feedback thread.
No good reason that I know of besides the fact that no one noticed. @m_pav ?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: MX-21 fluxbox beta 1 feedback thread.
what would be the compelling reason to bring in 1.3.7? IIRC, there is a right-click on the fluxbox taskbar issue that is broken in 1.3.7, unless its been fixed.

Re: MX-21 fluxbox beta 1 feedback thread.
I have had trouble with wireless reconnecting after waking, logging in, etc. This is on my Lenovo laptop:
I finally went into the Network Manager Connections, double-clicked my SSID, and on the General tab changed the priority to "1". That seems so far to have taken care of the problem, but I have never had to do that with this or any other machine so thought it might be worth a report.

Re: MX-21 fluxbox beta 1 feedback thread.
I read about such issue in an earlier forum post, ie that the fluxbox [config] menu could not be activated by rightclick on the native fluxbox toolbar.dolphin_oracle wrote: Mon Aug 23, 2021 10:33 am what would be the compelling reason to bring in 1.3.7? In today's MX-Fluxbox setup this [config] option is now accessible as a cascading menu in the 'settings' submenu. And moreover: now tint2 is the default toolbar in MX21.
I'm not questioning the functionality of the current mx-fluxbox version. But over a period of two years between versions, a number of minor/major bugs were fixed (see http://fluxbox.org/news/all.php). Maybe AntiX upgraded their fluxbox version to 1.3.7-1 for that same reason?

Finally tested on metal.
1. Strange menu entry in menu-mx_pl

There is no such an entry in the non-localized menu-mx.
2. Calendar Wars (YAD vs. gsimplecal).
Episode I: The Localization Strikes Back:

YAD calendar - localized out of the box, gsimplecal only in English.
The old YADa Master says: Perhaps we don't need gsimplecal at all...

Re: MX-21 fluxbox beta 1 feedback thread.
This is more than strange and odd!
I use Drill for file search, it is significantly faster than Catfish.
There are two functions, right click on file and it is opened in the editor, right click on path and the default file manager is opened in the appropriate directory.
And now it no longer opens the path in the file manager but calls qmplay2, the music player.
When I uninstall it, it calls me the harddisk allocation (baobab) in the directory.
To top it all off, Catfish does it too.
Can someone verify/falsify this on their system.

1. temporary issue as translations are being updated
2. I had looked at that before but the dialog screen was always to big. No longer a problem now, and I think you're right. I found this command gets a decent look:
Code: Select all

Re: MX-21 fluxbox beta 1 feedback thread.
Yes, it may be advisable to have a default application associated with mime-type "inode/directory", set for the user.wdscharff wrote: Wed Aug 25, 2021 7:54 am This is more than strange and odd!

If no default application is set for this mimetype, any app opening inode/directory, would query the mime database , and would fallback to the first one found in one of the mimeinfo.cache files.
( The result may vary depending what applications have been installed / removed and in what order, which are registered to handel inode/directory's)
One way to set the default application of mime-type "inode/directory" on the command line shown by this examples:
set PCmanFM as filemanager for mime-type "inode/directory"
Code: Select all
xdg-mime default pcmanfm-qt.desktop inode/directory
Code: Select all
xdg-mime default spacefm.desktop inode/directory
Code: Select all
xdg-mime default thunar.desktop inode/directory
E.g in Thunar right click on a folder ( = "inode/directory") and select PCmanFM or in PCmanFM and select PCmanFM
: and by this the selected the File manger becomes the default mimetype association for inode/directory.

hello dolphin_oracle
install saving changes
using the modified system to install a modified system /var/log is empty of a log of the changes. log starts empty fresh with the installation. Can the logs of changes in added packages be transferred to the installation along with save changes?

@fehlix
Thanks, Works :-)Alternatively one can use the file managers own way of setting a default app for this mime type:
E.g in Thunar right click on a folder ( = "inode/directory") and select PCmanFM
...
and by this the selected the File manger becomes the default mimetype association for inode/directory.
