So far so good with RC1,

However, the first real annoying issue I have come across is that Thunar in MX19 RC1 is NOT letting me select my ftp user on the Server. It allows me to simply go into my servers shared folders etc, but I do not have write permissions. On MX18.3 I would get a popup asking me for my user name and password. The server is a windows 2016 server OS and the ftp program installed on it is FileZilla ftp server. On MX18.3 I got the full gigabit speeds both ways usinf ftp, but on MX19 I am getting 11.2 MB/s, lol that sucks and its only read permissions. So I assume I have to sign in somehow? How do I force Thunar on MX19 to give me the user/password popup in order to properly access my server? Help please!

EDIT: OK, MX 19 RC1 was set to 100 Mbps Full duplex in the Network configuration app. I changed it to 1 Gb/s and did a test and its still running at 11.2 MB/s. Not sure if I have to reboot or not to get the full network speed.

Obviously not a hardware issue, but here is the quick info anyway. EDIT: LOL, It was a hardware issue, had to reboot the network router. Go figure...

I do use within Thunar

OK, thank you fehlix, but that didn't work either. I still did not get the popup, it just instantly threw me into my server folders with read only permissions. So my guess backing up and restoring my /home from 18.3 to 19 RC1 has helped me to break something. I can't even get it to run at full gigabit speeds, it keeps changing back to 100 Mbps, instead of the 1000 Mbps I was getting.

Dang, I was hoping that RC1 was good enough for daily driver use but I was not expecting to have to fix stuff. My bad...

i would sya - give them a chance t come up with a fix or get you goinf. i had an issue which was debian related and they fixed it within a few hrs. and that wasn't even their ( the devs - fault.) i have been running these 2 laptops for almost 20 and 24 hrs respectively and all is well. i was helped with info for a tweak too - other than that - it is sweet. you also knew it was rc so that was your call. i was interested and then a bit reluctant and finally jumped in based on what i see with MX and the team here. they are working hard tweaking the final little things.

Woohoo, got er fixed already. It wasn't a MX 19 bug, it was apparently my network. I updated the Server, rebooted it and then ran over to my Asus router and power cycled it just in case. A few days back we had a 2 second power outage, so that made me suspect a issue with the network or server. Waited for the network to come online and tried Thunar again, and sure enough it gave me the user popup, I filled in the password and the files are transferring at full Gigabit speeds. That kinda stressed me out there, but I'm good now. Love that I didn't have to go messing around with settings, eth0 drivers or kernels.

On a side note, I can't wait for Ubuntu Server 20.04 LTS with ZFS. I'm going to dump this windows server like a bad habit for sure. Just got to find a Linux replacement for the incredibly wonderful StableBit DrivePool software I use on Windows Server. If I can do that Windows is GONE forever. Lol

I changed the MX-Linux source from an American to a British one. No change.

Is it not from the Debian repo? Can I change that?

I tried deleting the downloaded libpng12-0 from the cache just in case the one there was broken, so it would have to download again. No change.

where did you get libpng12-0? that package is not in the debian repo.

libpng16-16 is in buster.
