When you start the liveUSB, does the audio work?

With Live USB there is no sound either. The YouTube clip works the sound indicator in the mixer shows the sound, but there is no sound. I have try front and rear sound output, I changed the speakers, I have try external external USB sound card ... no sound.

The power outage you mentioned in your first post: was it just a blown circuit in your home or a neighbourhood wide blackout? I'm asking because what you are describing is very similar to the after effects of a power surge. Is any of your other equipment affected?

It was exactly "blown circuit" I change it and everything works. But if there is problem with the internal audio card then why the external USB audio card doesn't work as well? But I have before the computer special device that stabilize the electricity in such cases just to protect the computer.

Was your printer connected to your computer? If it was, it would provide a path for the power spike to bypass your line conditioner and possibly fry the USB bus.

No, the printer is WiFi. Not connected to the PC at all. The USB works normally, but with USB audio card again no sound.

Click on the Audio icon in the panel --> select Audio Mixer --> tab over to Output Devices and you should see this screen:

Does it show your NVidia Audio controller and by Port: does it show Speakers?

Go to MX Tools --> Select Sound and see if you can designate the proper sound card.

Use a smaller version there, or attach using postimage (link below post window)

@rzaprianov
From your QSI

Code: Select all

Device-1: NVIDIA GF100 High Definition Audio driver: snd_hda_intel v: kernel bus-ID: 1-5:3 pcie:
    chip-ID: 046d:082d gen: 1 class-ID: 0102 speed: 2.5 GT/s lanes: 16 serial: <filter>
    bus-ID: 01:00.1 chip-ID: 10de:0be5 class-ID: 0403
The driver you want is snd_hda_intel, so you should select the alternate that is shown. It's likely that Intel supplied the sound chip to NVidia.

I think that the audio chip on your NVida graphics card has been fried and you should probably look for a replacement. There should be plenty available in the used equipment market.

Give this a try:
in a terminal

Code: Select all

alsamixer

Once alsamixer is on screen then :
F6 to choose your sound card
F5 to view all settings
on each mixer bar / channel, use + to raise the volume to 100
arrow right over to the next bar and raise each one up. (There are more to the right, off screen! set them all up high)

Do this for all bars / channels.

then retest the Audio Volume again.

I did everything, but alas nothing works through the mother boad sound card ... seems the audio card which is integrated on the MB is burned, so I ordered one internal Creative Sound Blaster 7.1 PCI and I really hope it will work normally but I will know that after Easter - means Wed evening.

I got new card - Creative sound blaster audigy (SB0570) se. With the new Creative sound blaster audigy (SB0570) SE I see all profiles (the list is huge https://imgur.com/tDDzE0W.png), I made all changes in Alsamixer https://imgur.com/kys9SRk.png. But again no sound. I have one small old USB card - works! The sound is not very good, but at least works. With the USB card I have some sound. Integrated card if turned off from BIOS.

If you are not clear on what changes you have made or how to reverse them individually, your best course of action is to reinstall.

No, I got that error starting from live USB, not the regular installation. The installation works 100% and there is no troubles. The live USB gave me that error.

hmmm in post number 9.....I believe you are supposed to click on the configuration tab and choose your preferred output device from there.
Did you do that?

2) in the image for Ca0106....I see S/pdif

I have seen....in the past....some people need to turn off then on.....or turn on then off the s/pdif to get analog sound
I know you are going to say you are not connected to optical cable.....but this is what you may have done in the past ?

Well, I couldn't test it under live USB as live USB didn't boot. And under the normal installation - yes doesn't work. I noticed that in the menu where I choose sound card in MX Select Sound If I choose Audigy next to "Your current sound card is" appear None. In the BIOS in PCI slots where it is the sound card in slot 6 appear "Audio".

I suggest that you use Repo Manager in MX Tools to switch your main repository to either Milan, Italy or Alblasserdam, The Netherlands. We own and operate both of these and there is the possibility that the ISO you originally downloaded was corrupt in some fashion which is why your USB drive won't boot. Using one of these two sites is the best guarantee I can give you that you will get a clean downloaded ISO.
