Surprised no one else has mentioned this, so not sure if anyone else would be interested but I noticed that MenuLibre has not been updated in a while in the repo. Might be a reason I am unaware of.

MenuLibre
-Current repo version available = 2.2.2 released Sep 25, 2021
-No version available in MX Test repo

-Current version available = 2.4.0 released Feb 25, 2024
https://github.com/bluesabre/menulibre/releases

Thank You

Is the MX menu editor broken?

Not sure I understand the question, does an application have to be "broken" in order to be added into the MX Test repo?
Lot of updates/bug fixes have been made to the application, might be nice to be able to test them before this gets added into MX someday.
I thought this appication was important within MX XFCE because it is the only graphical way to make adjustments to Whisker Menu as far as for applications.
To answer your question though, there are some strange behaviors I have come across, just have not been sure if they are just how the program functions, not going to mention them here, but I guess the application is not "broken".

We have a small volunteer packaging crew with a limited amount amount of time to split between packages. We haven't yet figured out how to have AI do it for us, but then we'll have MX LAInux. :p :noway: :yuck:

We thought we still had a homegrown MX mx-menu-editor packaged menu editor that would come up when a menu item was right-clicked. The KDE edition uses KDE's.

Anyway, upstream Debian is still on 2.2.2, so I ported over Ubuntu's 2.4.0 for the test repos. You can get it early here for 24 hrs. https://wormhole.app/NJ9D4M#O6uII90K6ulUgqZ84UOT3Q

I installed 2.4.0 and found that it can't locate some icons. Should I post that here or another subforum?

You should start another thread about that problem, and be specific about which icons can't be found, plus where they are located in your system.

I take it that the main repo version could find them.

OK. I will write another post about this later.
Yes the older version shows all icons and whiskermenu shows all icons in both versions.

I understand, the main packages I have requested mainly have to do with XFCE which is MX Linux flagship DE.
Catfish, Thunar, and now MenuLibre (which is not technically XFCE) but is the menu editor decided on/provided in MX Linux XFCE.
Just figured that many changes were made to MenuLibre and because this new version might be the one used in MX Linux XFCE Debian 13 release which is coming up, that it might be a good idea to know if there are any new issues that come with the newer version. Which I see that one user has mentioned something found already.
I apologize I will refrain from making any more package requests, again just thought XFCE ones made sense to mention.

Thank You

No, keep on making requests. There is nothing wrong about asking.

@advice1010 You can ask. Don't over-ask, as in flood with requests. And not all requests get met with a yes.
