I just like to have everything in one panel. And yes I like the panel row big (39 pxl) and big icons (fixed icon size 29)CharlesV wrote: Wed Aug 28, 2024 4:49 pm Gotcha. Yes, I had to completely rearrange mine to fit me better. (And I still run a bottom Docker ;-/ )

Hmm, you hold the left [Alt]-key and click with the left-mouse button
onto the window and move the window up by moving the cursor with the mouse up.
It always works, normally. Please try again, or try first with other window,
in case you never moved window with mouse-cursor.
At least it works always for me.
Hmme, it has a full-screen mode, but seems clicking on window full-icon withinJesusLinux wrote: Wed Aug 28, 2024 5:24 pm And like MX Cleanup app some windows don't have fullscreen mode.
the window title bar does not work, b/c min-height is already above the screen height.
Don't know the technical details or if there are any restrictions,JesusLinux wrote: Wed Aug 28, 2024 5:24 pm Why doesn't the window size auto adjust to available workspace area?
but that would sound like a change request.

OK that worked, I cant move window around. But the top of the window gets cut lol...fehlix wrote: Wed Aug 28, 2024 5:35 pmHmm, you hold the left [Alt]-key and click with the left-mouse button

[Alt]+left-mouse would be the same as just left-mouse click-hold on the titlebar,JesusLinux wrote: Wed Aug 28, 2024 5:45 pm OK that worked, I cant move window around. But the top of the window gets cut lol...
but has the advantage to move the window even if the titlebar is not visible.
Re: Panel above windows
Without Docker this works if the “Automatically hide bar” option is set to “intelligent” in the bar settings. My Xfce bar is always at the bottom anyway, no matter what Linux system, an age-old XP habit.JesusLinux wrote: Wed Aug 28, 2024 3:27 pm... I'm using MX with the panel at the bottom.
There are certain windows that do not adjust their size so they are 100% visible with the panel at the bottom ...
Re: Panel above windows
I've found giving everything a little bit of transparency helps to see stuff normally hidden when you have more than one window open. These are my panel preferences with compositor tweaks incl.

This is with xfce under 23.3 using modesetting drivers option in mx-tweak 'other'.
I'm still stuck using the regular windows type layout with everything in one line at the bottom. It works. I lock it just to get rid of of the little indicators that are at either end to give me just a little more space.

Re: Panel above windows
You can always redesign the interface to make it resizable with scroll bars, or change the orientation and make it Horizontally wider than vertical and move things around like putting "remove WiFi drivers" and "remove kernels" and "disk analyzer" side by side.fehlix wrote: Wed Aug 28, 2024 4:52 pm In the example of the “MX Cleanup” program, it was a kind of compromise that all these fields fit into the layout.
And if you compress the layout a little more, users will soon be complaining that the fields are packed too tightly.
Same goes for all other apps and dialog windows that don't respect the panel and don't resize.
In case of MX Cleanup, If you are going to do that, maybe you can add other items to clean like remove unused locales, and other redundant items
You can also allow the panel to reserve space for itself (feature present in other disros)

Re: Panel above windows
Yes, thanks. You are welcome to put your proposal on MX github as a pull-request, and we would happy to review. Maybe start with MX-Cleanup. Re: Panel above windows
This is the easiest (and most reliable) way I found out for the XFCE D/E:
Go to Settings/Workspaces:
In the "Margins" section, you can adjust the maximum height and width of open windows. If you don't want any open windows to cover the bottom panel, all you need to do is note the height of that panel in plxels, and then, in the Settings/Workspaces "Margin" section. In the lower margin (marked by a + sign like the ones for top, left and right), use the + thing to set the number of pixels to match the panel height. That way, any open window will not exceed that setting in height.
