Removed preset boot options from live session
Changed default desktop theme to the light variant and added a new CinnaMX wallpaper
LibreOffice now uses a light theme by default and uses an icon style visible on light and dark modes
Added GNOME system monitor application
Added cpupower-gui application for managing your CPU’s clock speeds and providing power saving options
Replaced XViewer with Eye of MATE image viewer due to issues with XViewer being permanently stuck on a dark theme
Replaced GPaste with Parcellite due to issues with the application being permanently stuck on a dark theme
Demoted Pix from the task manager due to issues with the application being permanently stuck on a dark theme
Added "Wallpapers" launcher to the panel for quick access to the system backgrounds

CinnaMX Pro 2.2 developed by Joseph DeGarmo
Base distro provided by the MX Linux team
Linux Mint applications distributed by Clement LeFebvre and the Linux Mint team
Cinnamon desktop environment developed by the Linux Mint team
Main features with this version:
AHS repositories enabled
Dark theme as default with the original CinnaMX wallpaper
Vivaldi as the default browser for increased performance and advanced customization
All-new “Performance Mode” selectable from the login screen session drop-down menu which provides a faster and smoother desktop / media experience (requires running in systemd mode for a stable experience)
Known issues with this release:
“Set as Wallpaper” Nemo action does not work on performance mode; Pix application is required for setting wallpapers (pinned to dock)
Menu editor does not launch on normal mode and requires performance mode to use
Desktop shell theme (menus, panels) on performance mode is stuck on dark theme
***WORKAROUND: Launch dconf Editor, navigate to com / solus-project / budgie-panel, then toggle dark-theme off. This will enable light theming on the menus and panels.***
Starting a new performance mode session when running on sysvinit mode will cause a startup crash and return you to the login screen after the performance mode has been terminated once (requires booting into systemd mode to prevent session crashes)

I downloaded CinnaMX 2.2 Pro
Tried to install----->> Hangs at 93% - Setting System Configuration
Tried again on different way ---> Same
Info for you --this week I dowloaded and installed 4 different ISOs, including MX-xfce
No problems with installation on very same HD
Sorry

Same with me.
I liked very much what I saw on the live system though.

I tested the installer and the installation completed. The setting system configuration and updating initramfs processes are taking longer than usual probably due to the liquorix kernel and/or two desktop sessions, so try again and be more patient.

OK instead of giving it 15 minutes ( at 93% ) I will give it 30 minutes ( at 93% )
Just in case....
The only info I can give you, is that after closing, my 40Gb partition was populated with and stuck at 18 Gb
Thats all

To be clear, the reason this installer is "hanging" at 93% is because that is the part of the installation process after unsquashing the base install where /etc/skel gets copied into /home and customized to create the default user account. This took a few minutes when I ran it in a VM with 4 GB of DRAM with 2 dual-core CPUs, so you can monitor the install by clicking on the "Live Log" tab and see which command is taking so long. From my experience the odds are good it will be "cp -p /mnt/antix/etc/skel /mnt/antix/home/username" and then again at "update-initramfs -k all", around the 95% mark.
If these commands hang, you can open a terminal and see what the installer is doing with "top" and "ps".

Thanks for the clarification. Most welcome !
I reformatted my partition with GParted, then immediately installed again.
This time it went flawlessly. Even at the ? famous ? 93% , there was only a 2 minute delay ( normal ), then shot up to 97% ( initramfs ) , took about 2 minutes ( normal ) and then finished.
After reboot, a kernel update, no problems !
So, why I had to try 2x with cinnamx2.2 and 3 times with cinnamx2.2PRO is a mystery to me .
Maybe Fridays are a public Holiday for my hardware
Who knows ? ?
OK, end good...all good.
Let's carry on and explore our new toy

Glad it worked out for you. I figured the reason why the pro edition takes a bit longer to install is because of the extra configuration stuff carried by the performance mode. Check out the performance mode and you will see why. And as a reminder, please boot to systemd mode if you want to use performance mode without issues.

On the grub menu, go to advanced options, then select the kernel with systemd. You can use the MX Boot Options to tell the system to default to systemd at boot.

And don't forget to select performance mode from the hidden desktop session menu found on the top bar of the login screen. You should notice smoother performance due to the changes to the desktop and compositor.

On the center of the top bar on the login screen is a session drop-down menu. You'll see Normal Mode and Performance Mode.

there is no top bar. Just the standard screen with a bottom bar.
I will do a new install later in the day or tomorrow morning and look for << those things >>
before I do anything else.like updating and new kernel
See you later

Please see image below. It should show you how to activate performance mode. Just make sure to boot into systemd mode first.

There is NO top bar visible ( or invisible )
I think the system is not rebooting into systemd ( yes, I pressed the right entry )
?

Did you go to advanced options on grub and select the kernel with systemd???

Yes, I did so from the very beginning
---->> A note about the 93%
I have done this several times.
If I clear the install partition with GParted, reboot into USB and install , the procedure stops at 93% . You can wait as long as you want . It stops at : rsync -a -info=name etc etc......
If I reboot without touching the partition and install over the old one, the installation works correctly
This is for both version 2.2 AND version PRO 2.2
This is regardless of partition on sda or sdb
As a test, I installed on same partitions 2 isos.
1-pclos-debian-kde and 2-Spirallinux Budgie-No problems here!

Well, just try to boot the pro version normally on sysvinit mode, but if you log into the performance mode, then remember to DO NOT logout. Trying to log back into it will cause a crash. Do a reboot instead. And yes, the true reason why this is an issue is because the performance mode is actually the Budgie desktop session in disguise. I'm trying to do a standalone Budgie respin, but the only thing that stops me from doing so is that I cannot create a systemd-only respin. However, if I could disable the logout command from Budgie and get around the bug that way, then I'll give the Budgie respin the green light.

I will wait for the budgie respin to appear !
Although experimenting is interesting , I have to quit on that for now and next 2 months :-(
In the mean time, your CinnaMX Version 1 is working 100% OK

It's a shame you had trouble with it. The Budgie desktop is embedded in the pro version and I had no issues with it. I'll see what I can do with a Budgie respin.

There is some work happening with using systemd with the Live system, it is in-progress and not 100% yet. Note I don't use MX-Snapshot nor have I had time to build test ISOs with this functionality but to my knowledge the MX-23 template has an initrd that can work with systemd. You may want to try adding this boot switch to your GRUB2 boot line for your Budgie Spin
I also have a vested interest in getting this working as my Spins use Enlightenment which also behaves much better with systemd boot, I have difficulty getting testing time in the busy summer months but this may be worth a try for you..

I tested this boot parameter on the snapshot iso (after installing the systemd-sysv package to override sysvinit with systemd) and it actually worked this time!! Thank you so much! With systemd set as default, login failures on Budgie will no longer be an issue. I will implement this fix and upload an updated version (CinnaMX Pro 2.2.1) with this bugfix very soon.
But the last remaining issue is how to disable the forced dark theme on Budgie. The option is not available on the Budgie Desktop Settings until Budgie 10.8 and newer (available on Debian SID, Fedora, Ubuntu 24.04, Solus, Arch) and it has to be toggled off using dconf editor, but the dconf editor changes do not persist across new logins. Do you know how to fix that?

That's great to hear!
Are you sure you needed to install systemd-sysv? My impression was that it would work with the systemd-shim like MX always does... I'm afraid I don't know much about dconf-editor as all my spins have been XFCE4, LXDE or Enlightenment and I haven't needed to do any sort of pre-configuration of that sort, sorry..
