Hope that everyone is in good (for them) condition
First thing so apologizes if this is not a usual topic and if not wanted (sorry) but Just had to share, is this is going to be the new sports shows in the future,
later next week or two I will be posting some questions about my new rig (old computer did a humpty dumty) got few small problems, I'd like to try work out some wrinkles myself first anyway only caught this on the fly, here's the teaser,
The world first uninterrupted FPV one shot was captured by a
manually piloted custom built drone, designed specifically for the challenge of keeping up with the car at speeds of over 300kph.
It's on Invidious (lost access to YT) never knew it existed the things that happen while offline for six weeks or more, lost track I did.
Oh when watching this go to fullscreen at about 9 minutes and don't skip ahead and miss watching really amazing insight to Red Bull's workshop the first 9 minutes, then hit fullscreen. WoW.
Enjoy the video

I caught that on YouTube yesterday. Amazing footage. Can't wait to see if it can do the same thing in dry conditions.

The spray off the tyres adds to bit of extra oh wow effect to the video but the piloted drone that is some seriously superb piloting.

I watched that part over and over. The aerodynamics really show up with the way the water moved around the car.

The quality of the footage from before RedBulls assistance and after is amazing. Prior to Redbulls improvements, it looked like entry level game graphics, afterwards, it was so much closer to real world footage, but at those speeds, it was phenominal that they could even get that quality level at those speeds in such a small camera.

The driver really had to slow down cornering in the rain, and even then had some slipping at times.

Besides the sheer fun aspect of such a project getting certain third parties interested in these devices probably played also a part.
I am looking forward to a repeat without rain

Interesting for a minute but I'm more interested in the actual real world limits of the drone itself. It's no hummingbird but it'd be cool if it could get a lot (A LOT) closer to the driver and more emulate the car's movements. Watching some guy do circles is boring. The older F1's were way more fun to watch as it was all mechanical and made for a real world fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants experience. I bet a robot could do the same driving and that would be neat to see as well.

It's good to see it from different (above) view, looking forward to the day when it's a full grid in actual racing coverage, awesome.
Not just the drone makers also the drone driver, permanent employment as a driving instructor, maybe.
