The driver really had to slow down cornering in the rain, and even then had some slipping at times.
Militaries contacting the drone makers in 3, 2,1....

Besides the sheer fun aspect of such a project getting certain third parties interested in these devices probably played also a part.
I am looking forward to a repeat without rain

Interesting for a minute but I'm more interested in the actual real world limits of the drone itself. It's no hummingbird but it'd be cool if it could get a lot (A LOT) closer to the driver and more emulate the car's movements. Watching some guy do circles is boring. The older F1's were way more fun to watch as it was all mechanical and made for a real world fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants experience. I bet a robot could do the same driving and that would be neat to see as well.

It's good to see it from different (above) view, looking forward to the day when it's a full grid in actual racing coverage, awesome.
Not just the drone makers also the drone driver, permanent employment as a driving instructor, maybe.
