Yes, I'm fairly sure that he means to reinstall, per:
It isn't enough to just remove the main packages because there's no way to tell what other dependencies were dragged in when those packages updated.and seeing this in the forum several times - and dependency hell.
Or do a Timeshift, or reinstall with a personal MX-Snapshot ISO, if you made either of those.
