well distrowatch didn't build it, I did. and light-locker is not on either the 64_bit AHS nor the standard 64 bit.

so if its on jerry's machine, then the vendor added it.

That may be. It was definitely on the system that came from StarLabs, since"which light-locker" reported the usual location. I am now working with a re-install (using our official 23.1 iso): that is not on my machine now and apt history does not show it being removed. But the conclusion seems clear: since it is no longer on my machine but the problem persists, it was not the cause.

My first test with the change to "deep" was not encouraging, but I'm not charging the machine back up and will make a long overnight test.

During the day, 4 different times I suspended for an hour, and each time the drain was 1-2%.
Then i remembered I had disabled webcam and wifi in bios, so I enabled both, then suspended for the night - lid closed.
10 hours later, the battery had dropped 50%.
Quite a change.

Since it happened with me only when I enabled wifi in bios, could it be that it's an issue with how Starlabs handles wifi? At least in MX?

The vendor is great and do is the machine, with one exception. The open question is how just their support.
