MX-23 Libretto

Finally here; Official release today. Downloading KDE version as we speak. Will start backing up the rest of my HD today. I have two drives. One still containing MX-19. Which where I'm putting MX-23 at. Over write MX-19 with MX-23 and keeping my MX-21.3 as is on the other drive for a reference while I have MX-23 install and ready to go. Mount MX-21.3 and move some stuff I like to keep. I always back up my files onto an external. So anything on MX-21.3 will be also backup on my external for save keeping. I don't move everything back on to my primary drive. Just mount and have the content access on the previous drive. Easy to move from one drive to the other and don't loose anything or forget anything all still there on previous drive and easy access with a simple mount. Will let you know how things went.

23 info: https://mxlinux.org/blog/mx-23-libretto-now-available/

It will not update on its own, if you search on the forum you will find more info on that.

I set up a Plymouth screensaver that is no longer available for download. Therefore, I wanted to upgrade from 21.3 to 23.

I just updated my RC3 with synaptic, all but one package up-graded -mx-system

Code: Select all

W: Failed to fetch http://mirrors.rit.edu/mxlinux/mx-packages/mx/repo/pool/main/m/mx-system/mx-system_23.07.09mx23_all.deb
  404 Not Found [IP: 2620:8d:8000:15:1ead:ed:c0:ffe 80]
I will reboot anyway -due to the kernel upgrade, and try again.

rit.edu hasn't synced yet since that package was updated this aftenoon. IIRC, they sync every 12 hours.

So far I'm liking it. I started using the package manager call Discover and download my favorite KDE game call Naval Battle. Went in settings for it to play sound. Love battleship and this is a very fun game to play. Still exploring and I always stick what is default over my favorites. Just to see how I like the default settings. When I like to fall back on my favorites, I'll install them instead using the default applications.

I downloaded now, I will test Turkish parts and installation process. I made lots of translations at Transifex a couple weeks ago.

Ladies and Gentlemen,
You did a fantastic job with the release of MX-23! It's functions quite smoothly, and runs fast on my older system (e.g. faster than Win 11 on a Beelink-u59 [whatever that means]).

I like that you updated the website landing page as well. Lookin' good guys!
:D

hello gimcrack and everyone
Hello AlphaElwedritsch
After installing mx-fluxbox onto xfce
log-out and log-in to fluxbox; set-up not needed,
but it does still exist as /usr/bin/mxflux_install. s h
is that the one(?)
maybe it can still be used as a reset fluxbox script
but as it is now just log-out xfce and log-in fluxbox.
Also install packages <custom-toolbox> and <mx-fluxbox-about>
