IN XFCE, I just increase the DPI setting. Can you not do the same thing in KDE?
you mean change the DPI to fix the problem in KDE?
i dont know, because it says "changing DPI values from default will conflict with many apps" on the tooltip of "force font DPI", and i have seen enough broken GUIs in KDE, so i left it at default. i dont know how KDE is calculating the "default" DPI, though. for a 1920x1080 resolution it gives me 144 DPI (at 150% scaling).
Leave the scaling at the default setting and just raise the DPI. My HP 15's resolution is 1920 x 1080 and all I did was raise the DPI from the default 96 to 120.
I tried that and it didn't work, any other suggestions??

tried it, but it makes some non-KDE stuff unreadable small and many apps dont even have a scaling setting.
thats why i think the scaling setting is one of the best KDE-features.

Well.. the good thing about changing it, is that you can very easily change it back if you happen to not like it.
Give it a try.
well, to find out if changing the DPI settings fixes the "konsole-space" problem, i would need to recreate the problem in the first place, but im not able to do that and changing the font fixed it.
but ive seen the konsole problem on several installs and im pretty sure its not MX-specific.

ive already described how to fix the problem, did you try it?

I've tried changing the DPI, tinkering with the scaling, changing fonts and still have the problem.

just tried it on another install with bugged konsole: MX 23, KDE 5.27.5, frameworks 5.103.0, Qt 5.15.8,kernel 6.6.9 amd64,X11.
go appearance>global theme>fonts>adjust all fonts: change all fonts to "monospace", restart>profit.

Just got a new nvme and reinstalled, used 23.5 instead of 23.4 and the problem is gone.
