That's it , thank you :)

P.S. Charge it when it's off (just leave it). Also this is something good once a battery's life (no matter that works or not, but I guess it will)

... And, in fact you can just install the 6.0 (regardless of the issue) as your hardware is new and also 5.18 and 5.19 have reached EOL

... The first time you turn it on, it'll perform a file-system check (for the system was not shutdown the normal way) , that's normal.

You can go on using the laptop (surf the web etc) to even make it drain quicker.. Just when it approaches to 3-5 etc.. leave it ...

@Huckleberry Finn: Are you suggesting leaving it to discharge to 3-5%?
And by 6.0 do you mean Kernel 6.0?

I thought laptops that had discharge cycles from 100% down to <10% would kill the battery fast?

I've set the /sys/class/power_supply/BAT?/charge_control_end_threshold for this particular laptop to 60 for now, since a lot of people suggested it would be better to charge the battery to between 60-80% to preserve the battery life.

Yep, kernel 6.0 (can install as in the picture (click that link) )

I mean, you can go on using the laptop till the end.. just when the level is about 2,3 or 5 it's best to do nothing (copy-paste etc) and let it drain to 1 and shutdown by itself ...

The bad one is leaving it drained (stay 0 charged) (or low charged for a long time... ) . You can do this again later (no specific intervals , maybe once a year or 6 months or so ...)

That (what you did) is not a bad idea, but I would remove it once for this operation (as this is to make it know/determine what point is exactly 100 and what point is 1 (or zero)..

@Huckleberry Finn: Thanks! That's given me some peace of mind and I've actually learnt something.
Much appreciated

Edit: Hold on... what picture did you mean?

You're welcome.

On the other laptops also do that.

In the meantime (I can't remember what they call it) but it's also good to fully charge "sometimes".. I mean, yes, keep it bw (like the phones) 40-80 .. that's good.. but sometimes make it 100% ..
