Nice one! It must've looked quite different back then.

Here is one of the early development ideas for the Forum as we were putting it together in 2010. We also had a section for Mepis that was of course dropped.

Yes, things were different back then. The forum changed software once or twice, which changed the look and feel.
But on that old Mepis link, I see many familiar names Jerry3409, richb, smiliken, Stevo, uncle mark ....
In the early days, it was Warren's one man show for development, with some help from the community, then came anticapitalista's antiX which broadened the scope (a lighter version) and acted as a foundation for the live session stuff which with the dev team morphed into the current xfce based MX. At least that's what I recall.
All in all, a great ride, still going strong, and this forum with its stalwarts is a foundational element.
MX just keeps getting better.

@Utopia Thanks for that, the Wayback machine is awesome!

This one shows a few excerpts from it but the link to the complete story is also unresponsive:

Thanks for your insight.
I had a link to an interview with Warren but the site is down, or it is for me:entropyfoe wrote: Thu Apr 28, 2022 5:07 pm ....

Even back then it was getting great reviews, although that TechDOT.com link is a no go as well:All in all, a great ride
TechDOT.com has interviewed Warren Woodford, the founder of the increasingly popular MEPIS Linux: "MEPIS is splitting into two versions, ProMEPIS and SimplyMEPIS ... On a related note, LWN has published a comparative review of five Linux live CDs, in which MEPIS gets the highest score: "Among all the distributions tested, MEPIS had the best hardware detection and the fastest boot time. Even my screen resolution was set accurately, and most of all no screen flickering. It was the only one able to configure my screen correctly.".
