Meanwhile, I guess you already disabled "secure boot" in Bios settings, right ? In fact, I saw some similar issues (or similar error) on the net, Arch, Ubuntu, Mint.. some were solved just with another kernel etc...

laptop successfully on Window10, then I switch to MX Linux and get connection problem.
I've just checked and seen
ibus-unikey on the MX repos, If my memory serve me right, I have tried it on another Linux distro and it may won't work on Vim or other apps like a browser. I've checked the Github repos of ibus-Unikey, it's is not maintained anymore and then recommend to use ibus-bamboo instead.
