@asqwerth That's gotta be a world's record or somethin'!!!

The answer to the question for your Thunderbird and Firefox settings, with neither Firefox or Thunderbird running, assuming you used the same username on MX-21, are:

Code: Select all

rm -rf ~/.mozilla/firefox
cp -a /oldmx/home/USERNAME/.mozilla/firefox ~/.mozilla/
rm -rf ~/.thunderbird
cp -a /oldmx/home/USERNAME/.thunderbird ~/
You can do similar for your Document, but I would not recommend you try this for other configuration files, certainly not while your MX-21 is running and your logged in as your user. Hint: before overwriting any ~/.config files, backup that directory.

A few years back I joined the local Linux Club, and with help from M Pav, swapped from Kubuntu to Mepis, then to MX-14. Like askwerth, have continued with upgrades as each version of MX appeared, using xcfe, Home was preserved each time without problems until MX-21 arrived. This time I moved Home to an external hard drive and started a complete new installation of MX-21. After spending much of a wet weekend sorting things out, MX-21 is now up and running, except for gmail which has completely disappeared. 'Tis not quite the end of the world, can still access gmail on the MX-19 backup machine but am puzzled why i cannot find it for 21.
Backup: Dell9010, MX-19_B2, Win7, 120 SSD, WD 232GIB HD, 4GB RAM
Primary :Homebrew64 bit Intel duo core 2 GB RAM, 120 GB Kingston SSD, Seagate1TB.
MX-18.2 64bit. Also MX17, Kubuntu14.04 & Puppy 6.3.
