Preferred apps

I noticed your selection of Apps is very limited and even more restricted to the four default apps (Firefox, Thunderbird, Thumar and XFCE terminal. Is there any way to get Nemo as my default file manager?
I have, of course, been using Thumar, don't like it, but did not seem to have any choice. Then all of a sudden the top tool bars disappeared, making Thumar even less fun to use.
So, if I could, I would like to load Nemo. Failing that, getting the missing tool bars back in Thumar.
Thanks.

Dangbert, Nemo can be found in the MX Package Installer and available in the Stable Repo. As for the tool bars disappeared on Thunar, are you using Compiz?

I have no idea. I tried running it from the "Run" slot in the menu and all I got was LibreOffice. How do I check to see if Compriz is being used in the video setup. I do have
As for Nemo, I know its on the Repo, and have it installed on my box, but I cannot seem to be able to get it linked to the "Preferred Apps" icon on the toolbar.

Dangbert , look in Settings>Session and Startup>Application Autostart and see if it's there. If Compiz is there it can cause the tile bar and menus to vanish. In Preferred Apps select the Utilities tab and toggle where it says Thunar to Other and enter Nemo in the dialog box and click OK.

What "Preferred Apps icon" and what "toolbar" are you talking about?
Have you changed Nemo to the preferred File Manager in Preferred Applications > Utilities?
As always please provide your Quick System Info
Edit: ninja'd by Mauser it seems

@Dangbert
It would be well worth your effort to learn how to use the tools; read the manual; learn some Linux; explore and practice using the desktop tools. Much of the goodness of XFCE is baked into Thunar, one of the best file managers in the Linux ecosystem.

I don't see a snide remark by anyone, just people trying to help and offer suggestions.

People are giving you specific things to try.
Please be specific when replying, what exactly didn't work?

I have since worked with Thumar and both see what he was saying and got things back up.
I hate to say how long I have been using Linux as that is usually just done to try to impress. But I had checked the Manual (which is for the 19.2 version) but, to be honest I did not know where to took. I did not know if it was Thumar acting up or something else. I tried deleting the .thumar file and the app, rebooting and doing a reinstall. No go. I tried working with anything I could think of and no go. I did not think of the "F" keys, you suggested them, tried, did not think they worked, tried again and it did.
Botton line, its fixed and thanks.
