@manyroads and @AVLinux

Cool beans, Was that under MX-19 or 21?

I just realized that was a MX-21 package, shouldn’t matter but some of the -dev build depends are different versions.

I’ll do actual packages for the repos next, just give me some time to work them in. Hopefully before the end of the weekend.

In my case it's on a 19.4-based AVL-MXE install self-upgraded to Bullseye so neither an official MX 19 or 21...

... Yes, no luck ... for MX19 to MX21 you have 4 builds to do (x32 and amd64 ) ;-)

by "no luck" you mean that that previously provided package didn't work on MX-19?

It was a long shot I guess, the one primary -dev build depend pulls in specific versions of the subsequent -dev packages, which in turn makes the runtime dependencies versioned too.

I have to do some house keeping on the debianization... copyright file... that kinda stuff.... but building looks solid now so I should be done later today and tomorrow :footinmouth:

... No by "no luck" it's mostly a kind of humor ... More packages to do (if the dependencies have not the same version) ;-)
Not tested yet, I will try soon.

@oops actually, the packaging itself stays the same except the mx version number appended to the end of the files.
Its about trying to be smart with the debianization and let the build tools do their job and not try and make it harder by listing each dependency version.

I'm getting better at "from scratch" packages, I'm no Stevo, but thats a high bar to try and reach.

It takes like 15 seconds to compile each version of pamixer... so its really not a big deal. Takes longer to drag n drop the test versions into a VM, install, and test them quick than building now.

Keep you good job, and thank you for these accurate explanations.
Do not worry, step by step you are the Stevo number 2 .-)

I have all the packages built, just need to test them, and send them for inclusion in the Repo later.
