Re: Important Kernel issue with AMD Vega or Navi Graphics

FYI: I have Ryzen 5 3500u (Vega 8 ) running 5.6.0-2-amd64 (Mesa 20.3.4). No lockups (running it hard with screenrecording and video encoding).

This system is the product of installing MX 19.2 ahs. System update brought it up to 19.4. I could not get 19.3 nor 4 iso to install. I didn't pursue it. I knew 19.2 installs, so that was the easy way out for me. (I think that's the only iso that installs for me. 19.1 didn't install either. One of the SteveO special isos worked at that time. But, I took the opportunity to run a distro I wanted to use for a long time, then came back when 19.2 was released. But, MX has gone back to being uninstallable with .3 & .4).

I'll try to watch for the next release being available to test. (For some reason, that never stands out to me. If someone remembers me then, feel free to ping me so I can add some info about how it works on this laptop.).

@Stevo Now that's some real good clarification about roadmap and current policy about kernel... thanks!
Hope we might see 5.14/15 after a few months (very feature rich with latest hardware support for intel/amd platforms)
So we won't have the AHS initially for MX21? That might sadden some bleeding edge hardware owners too soon after a new release though.

Yes, I've been waiting for the feature to automatically update.
