Re: Feedback thread for MX-Base ISO's
Can confirm that the sourceforge links are still not working for me at present. m-pav, appreciate all your hard work so far, mate.
Edit: I can download the mx19.2_base_x64.iso.md5sum file but not the iso itself.

Re: Feedback thread for MX-Base ISO's
All of the isos do the same thing. The smaller files can be downloaded. I still think it's a mirror server issue as I see that there have been 81 total downloads of the x64 iso but they're not working now. We just need to wait either for that mirror's server to be fixed by its sysadmin or for the files to become populated to alternate mirrors.

Very nice, especially in combination with MXPI. Should become official in my opinion.

m_pav made an intro video as well!m_pav wrote: Sat Oct 10, 2020 5:56 am I just uploaded a 6-7 minute screencast that shows how to use the installer within Fluxbox and added a little bit more information about the Base ISO's....
It shows how when iDesk populates the Desktop, it doesn't include any extra contents within the /home/demo/Desktop folder and that is why the installer icon does not display when running live.....

Re: Feedback thread for MX-Base ISO's
First things first. Managed to download it (eventually). Made a live usb using gnome disks (easy for me) and tried it on compaq nx6310. Working good.
I'm really liking the splash screens you made (not a fan of the Plymouth ones).
Starts really fast. Everything working on the live usb out of the box except 2 issues:
1) wifi wasn't working. Had to check back with the previous installed linux (lubuntu). Figured out lubuntu was using the 'wl' driver. Restarted the live session, went to mx network assistant and unblocked the 'wl' driver from the blacklist, even though it was showing as 'loaded'. Instant wifi after that.
ANY REASON WHY IT IS BLOCKED/BLACKLISTED BY DEFAULT?
2) After making a few minor changes, I tried to switch the panel to horizontal desktop using the welcome box. Panel disappeared. Tried to undo changes but came back with error (see image). I was able to log out by right clicking desktop. Logged back in with demo account and panel was back.
EDIT: After installing, the wifi no longer works.

Re: Feedback thread for MX-Base ISO's
Sorry Michael. Couldn't get it to work, I'm afraid. Wifi is dead after install, tried a few things but no joy. Going back to Lubuntu (well, I'm giving Xubuntu a try first)

Sorry, I always ask for weird things ...m_pav wrote: Fri Oct 09, 2020 5:10 pm Please post your feedback here about our MX-Base Personal Respin ISO's recently announced in our blog.
- MX-19.2_x64.iso - Xfce 64-bit
- MX-19.2_base_386.iso - Xfce 32-bit
We'd love to hear how you might use them in Single use/purpose environments, or how you might put them to work.
- MX-19.2_flux_base_386.iso - Fluxbox 32-bit
Is it possible to have a 64-bit ISO with only Fluxbox? It would be ideal to install / test other DEs and see how they work with MXLinux
Greetings from Senpai
