Ah, now I remember-- I didn't make the changes to the gmic packages, but to GIMP and Krita from the menu, using their .desktop files. The fixed Krita is in MX 19 main, but the updated GIMP is still in the test repo.
The trick is to append to the beginning of the commands for each app, env QT_QPA_PLATFORMTHEME=gtk3, so the menu editor could add that to the current GIMP menu entry. The OP must have updated GIMP from the test repo for g'mic to just start working like it did, though.
GIMP 2.10.20 has been in the test repo for quite a while, though--I think it could go to main.

Can you please clarify some information for me, you are using gmic 2.8.4 with the standard Gimp or Gimp from the MX Test Repo? Can you tell me which version of Gimp you have installed?Zuul wrote: Thu Aug 13, 2020 3:56 pm You are great. Mx is great.
Plz take your time. 2.8.4 works very fine!
I am asking because I have 2.9.1 built and it tested fine for Gimp in the MX Test Repo and I'd like to have gmic 2.8.4 moved to the main stable repo if you are not having issues with it.
Thanks

G'mic, with its "Montage" function, I would call essential for Gimp. Thank you for the tip!
