Goodmornig, I'm Mariagrazia from Italy and to say thank you for your os I tied to realise a wallpaper for your beautifull Patito Feo This is my first attempt to create a wallpaper, I hope it will be usefull. I compose it using two different photos I took from google and I looked for photos only CC or that Google say they are available for free use. To compose the wallpaper I used Free Office 2018 Presentations and I saved the slide as png image.
It is a wallpaper of 1.3 Mb
It is 1920 x 1080 pixel. I hope it can be usefull even if the second measure isn't 1200 pixel as you suggested.
The other two wallpapers I would like to propose I'm drawing with pastels but they are at the beginning. Bye from Mariagrazia

when I have to do graphic work I use Gimp, which I know well, and inkscape which I know not so good.
But I don't have artistic skills so I make technical use of these software.
An interesting software for artistic graphic works is Krita. It is a software with which you can do excellent works especially if you have a graphics tablet.
I don't know if in this long quarantine period for covid 19, you have been at home or if you were among the categories of workers who have continued to work.
You might be among those who still can’t (unfortunately) work. If you still have free time you could try to see how Krita works: there are many video tutorials, also in Italian.

It's good news to know that you want to try to install the Linux operating system on some sister computers.
Feel welcome and if you have difficulty with any of these computers don't be afraid to ask for help. Here there are many competent users who are committed to helping users in trouble.

Hi, sister Mariagrazia, we have some forum members who post small preview versions of their wallpaper in a thread dedicated to their own creations, and in their posts they also provide links to their main cloud site where the larger pictures can be viewed/downloaded by any interested members.

For instance, AKS (Auro Kumar Sahoo), wdscharff, antechdesigns.

And then, when it gets closer to the next official release of MX (usually end of the year), I will issue a invitation to all members to submit selected contributions for consideration to be part of the official wallpaper collection.

I use Pinterest more of Flikr and Google drive so I'm going to open a folder for mx wallpapers. I think that in this moment I can share only drawing because I studied computer science at secondary school but I finished it in 1990 and after I didn't work as programmer so as you can imagine my knowledge are rusty - even if whithout them I couldn't do nothing to save my old laptop from the garbage (this would be the sort of my old hp 6720s with windows vista and with other little problem, if I didn't adopt it trying to do something to use it ). I'm lucky also because in my school they teached us also english for computer. But also your manual and this forum are wonderfull to try to solve problems someone can find in manage your "Patito feo".
By the way now that I know that patito feo means brutto anatroccolo in my language, I'm really glad because is a fantastic name to give also to mine old laptop that none had considered to save from garbage. It was a patito feo but now it is a very nice swan thanks of all of you who work to realise a really beautifull OS. Now I'm thinking that i couldn' t come back to Windows even if they will propose to me to change my laptop with a new one. I really like linux freedom! And I like mx-linux more of other distros I read about.

Please don't fell obligated to come up with a whole series of pictures all at one go. This should be an enjoyable ongoing project/hobby for you, not a burden.

Maybe starting from your next picture, you can start a fresh thread called something like "Wallpapers by SRMG". Whenever you have fresh picture, just post a small preview and the picture link in that thread.

Goodafternoon, I've changed the first wallpaper and I added two other wallpapers made by FreeOffice Presentation. I put them in Google drive so there is no need to have an account to download them. I have added 2 wallpapers in wich there is an image that is a pastel drawing made by me. Next week I'll add another one with a swan with its littleswan on the bach

How hard it is depends on what and how much you want to do.
An own domain and webspace costs of course money, depending on the hoster and offer/package between 2-10 Euro/month. I have e.g. a semi-professional package, with all the frills, 10 domains, 200gb webspace, own mailserver, telephone support 24/7, etc, etc (I used to work with it professionally) and pay 100€/year.
If it's only about presenting a "few" pictures, a small package for less than half of that is still enough.

There is an easy, free, introduction to the subject: just google for the term FREEHOSTER. These are providers who offer free packages with limited possibilities (webspace, traffic, speed, php, database). With it one can play as a beginner well, experiment and acquire the Basics.
As I present the MX wallpapers, this is technically lowest level, this is only a directory with images and a small program that displays the images. No database, no gimmicks, just display.

Another possibility would be a blog for example on wordpress.com, there is also a free entry package, there you can upload your pictures and link to the forum. Of course, I consider the payment rates of wordpress too expensive :-)

I also like swan and for me to discover that patito feo mean ugly duck it was really a good surprise because it's my favourite novel when I was a child so a lot lot lot time ago but I still like novels as I like "The Swan Lake". And I think also that this name is fantastic for mxlinux that is a very nice distro and it is capable to give new life to very very old pc and laptop!

The first one you told me is a drawing I made with coloured pencils on black paper and this kind of drawing for me is a very old passion because I begun to draw on black paper till I was 13 years old. I like very much the effect of colours on black paper. Someone didn't like it because they don't like black but I still love it.
