Help proofreading doc translations

I have used DeepL to translate the 13pp documentation mxfl-docs into the following languages (strikeout=REVIEWED):

Dutch
French
German
Italian
Polish
Portuguese
Spanish
Russian

It would not let me translate into the two remaining languages (Polish and Russian) because I had gone over my limit. Those translations plus the original in the required *.docx format are here:

https://drive.google.com/open?id=1joDWu ... aeN2_3vMcq

Russian:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1cJuVk6 ... sp=sharing

Polish:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1EUFIra ... sp=sharing

1) could someone please download the original, then go to www.deepl.com and click on the translator if you do not see it. Then click the "Translate document" link, upload the *docx file and choose the Polish and Russian translations one at a time. They will be downloaded automatically when finished (about 1 minute), and then just send them to me: jerry AT mxlinux DOT org.

2) The translations are not perfect, of course. I noticed the three words "brackets, parentheses and braces" were not translated correctly in French, for instance. I am willing to just go with those as they are for the upcoming release of the Final version of MX-Fluxbox, but they really need to be reviewed by a native speaker ASAP.
If you have time and interest to review one, post a message back here that you have reviewed it so others do not redo the work, and send it to me at the same address.

Deadline: Thursday Feb 13, end of day

Someone has agreed to review the German translation (great).

So only 7 more to get done--we can do it people!

OK, I have the Polish and Russian though without images, are they all like that?

Will change the GDrive archive in a bit.

I have started to read/proofread the documentation in French, but the file seems to be write protected. I am currently looking for some option in LO to add annotations.

There should be a bar in yellow at the top that says to click to edit. At least there was in my LO 6.3.3 (Debian Backports). Otherwise I believe you can just copy and paste into a new document.

OK, I did a copy/paste, font has changed, but it should be good enough for the corrections.

Is there a link to the English version? I do need to read it in order to understand what was meant (pager de la barre d'outils, no idea of what it is referring to).

The English version is in the package linked in OP as "mxfl-docs". A pager is the item that lets the user switch workspaces.

Indeed, that's what I deduced after reading further (I used "changeur d'espace de travail", which is the translation of the applet in the French version of MX).

So Polish has been reviewed, and French is currently under review. Not actually sure about German, so put it back on the list.

<Bump>, if I may?

Being a new MX user, I come across this thread. Is this still active, or more a "don't bother"?

No yellow bar in LO 6.1.5.2. And (also) even when saving the original as a new document, I cannot edit it (why not?).

And what the heck is that "Icon Management Tool" popup window appearing, when I cut&paste the original (Dutch) text???
Copy-paste.png
When I copy&paste into a new document, the layout/fonts get indeed messed up...

My native language is Dutch (No, I am not Dutch :p ), so I could check the Dutch version (I know and have used Fluxbox in Debian), but if I also have to start completely "correcting" the layout and the fonts... well... you know... my apologies, but... never mind... <sigh>

Why not put up editable versions of the translations?

(Oh, and why offer a DOCX format file, in Linux, about something about Linux, on a Linux forum? ;) )

Edit:
- LO will not allow me to change the font of the "Table of Contents" (at top of page 1) from Liberation Mono to Liberation Serif - why not?
- Some of the pictures have disappeared or are placed "outside" the page (A4 format), or are blank (white) squares (frames?).
- I am going to leave it at this...

I could do without the attitude...

The files are in GitHub or accessible through F1 (also Menu > help), in the "source" directory where not a DOCX is to be seen. (5 months ago--this is an old thread--DOCX format was used for the review b/c that was required for DeepL translation.)
