From Wikipedia :
For device displays such as phones, tablets, monitors and televisions, the use of the word resolution as defined above is a misnomer, though common. The term display resolution is usually used to mean pixel dimensions, the number of pixels in each dimension (e.g. 1920 × 1080), which does not tell anything about the pixel density of the display on which the image is actually formed: resolution properly refers to the pixel density, the number of pixels per unit distance or area, not total number of pixels
I will choose Définition instead of Résolution in French translation.

The quoted Wikipedia text is probably correct to refer to pixel density of the display. OTOH, changing the pixel dimension for a given fixed screen size will change pixel density and by this the resolution for the given display dimension. Also note, the two other tools "Display" (Affichage) and Arandr for changing the pixel dimension do use the term "Résolution". So in this sense I suggest to stick with the same term "Résolution".

I will stick with resolution to ensure consistency but that's a misuse of language (the same for mass and weight by the way).

I would just use what people know. Even though it might not be correct, the other ways of describing just isn't clear enough anyway.

I'm part of the "people" and I use defintion instead of resolution because that's the right term.
Do you intend to call your

?

That's an fluxbox-specific term that should not be translated. (It refers to a location on the desktop where small applications can be anchored and is used for the docks)

The word, yes, if there's no code such as <notrans> or something. But I have no experience with this sort of thing so have to rely on your judgment.
Bottom line: we don't want translators breaking their heads trying to figure out what to do with it.

I can take it out easy enough
a slit being a long narrow opening, I think that's pretty much what the fluxbox guys meant when they named it (it might be dumb, but we didn't name it).

It appears within the string in defaultlook.ui. I am not sure I am going to have a way to determine what you want translated and what you do not. So to be clear, you only want the word "(slit)" removed?

There is a new string in MX-Tweak, related to toggling apt to install "recommend" packages as dependencies.
Recommends are sort of "soft depends" that are not necessary for the application to run, but might bring some needed functions. Some packages are sloppy in their dependency callouts and won't work without the recommends installed (gnome-boxes, libvirt-manager, among others).
Debian installs recommends by default, but MX does not.

Debian installs recommends by default, but MX does not.
Basically, I think this is a good policy for users to keep the installed system simple.
The other day I was going to remove Thunderbird after installation of (full) Cinnamon Desktop, but I couldn't do it due to its dependency. The Cinnamon maintainer at Debian advised me that you should install "cinnamon-core" instead.

Two new strings added to mx-tweak to deal with some hidden features of thunar.
"Thunar windows always open in split view" forces thunar to always spawn windows with dual-pane already enabled.
"Thunar split view opens horizontal" forces the split view to be horizontal instead of the default vertical.
strings are up on transifex now.

I just upgraded and those good additions must be on a tab that MX Fluxbox users don't see. Any interest in duplicating them on the "Fluxbox" tab they do see (even though it doesn't match the rest of the content)? Or something else?

Dear Developers,
I know that Thunar is a proper name. It's the name of the XFCE file manager and I don't translate it into French.
But for Tasklist, I don't know what it is. Is it also the proper name of a program? It could be translated as a list of tasks but I don't know if it's right to do so.
As in English, all words are capitalized, it is not easy for translators to know if it is a common or proper name in other languages.
Thank you for your support.
Best regards,
Wallon

So it should be separated by a semicolon and end with the semicolon " ; ":

Hello, dolphin_oracle.
pushing up mx-tweak string change for a new function for KDE to disable/enable plasma-discover tray utility autostart, if plasma-discover is installed.
Thank you very much for this explanation. The automatic translation of the text of the sentence "Autostart plasma-discover system tray update notification utility" was incomprehensible and thanks to your explanation I was able to understand it correctly and build a coherent "pt_BR" text.
Please, when you use the latest translation of the "mx-tweak" resource, also use the latest translation of the "mx-tweak-desktop" resource. I have made new improvements to the translations of the "pt_BR" texts where I mention the original name of the program (in English) in the "Comment[pt_BR]" entry, in addition to new languages that have been translated, such as Dutch.

Olá, dolphin_oracle.
pushing up mx-tweak string change for a new function for KDE to disable/enable plasma-discover tray utility autostart, if plasma-discover is installed.
