Per the MX User Manual it's important. Some versions prior to 625 are incompatible with the antiX full-featured USB features. Perhaps you were lucky and happened to get an older version that isn't incompatible.bled wrote: Sun Jun 30, 2019 2:27 am no, it is not important that unetbootin is latest...

My SanDisk models are legit. I bought them directly from the Sandisk website. The ISO you tried above might be a WinPE based/created ISO, i.e. it is neither a MX/antiX ISO nor probably a iso-hybrid ISO.
Even if dd-dump succeeded with WInPE or winOS based ISO's, does not mean that the create USB is bootable at all.
In addition any other attempt to use dd-based USB writer like Etcher, Mintstick will not make a WinPE iso boot neither.
