What I have, desktop and a wifi phone, all working still  (though I have no idea what is in my system at this moment, I just used clonezilla to make a clone beforehand *giggle*)

I will test when I get to work in about 12 hours. I have a laptop that has a flaky wireless card. If it's too far away from the access point, (like 15 feet!) it will not connect, but when I bring it closer to the AP, it connects, then it works fine for the rest of the day and holds the connection for up to 35 feet before it drops the connection.

I had a laptop like this to repair; I eventually found that only one of the aerial connections to the wifi card had ever been pushed on! The owner insisted it had been like it from new, and was very impressed with its subsequent performance.

All is well here, updated two machines,

Lenovo E330 with the troublesome BCM 43228. Today was the worst ever, but if you take into account that this is the first ever Linux distro that could use the wireless on this machine, it is still the best, however, after about 20 attempts where it kept repeating a password prompt, I finally got it to connect and that was 2ft from the AP. I am now 15ft away and I have 4 bars running from a stock standard RC2 flash drive. Installed to HD and updated made no difference.

Interesting, I just remastered my flash drive with the updates, rebooted and this laptop connected on the 2nd try from 15 feet away. Is it a fluke or is it a difference caused by the firmware updates???? I just rebooted again with the remastered Live-USB and it connected first time!. Will have to try again tomorrow at work.
