Login Screen does not scale.
it stays at 100% despite desktop set to 250%. I had applied the "Apply Plasma Settings" under "login screen (SSDM"
This worked in MX 23.6 and login screen was in same scale as the regular desktop

Re: MX 25 Beta 1 Feedback thread
I tried logging out. But for me it stays at what appears to be 100%. i also tried it with X11. Same result.specialk wrote: Mon Oct 06, 2025 2:50 pm
Same here (I use 200%) but weirdly when login in out of Lock Screen, size is OK.
I'm just speculating: this may be a KDE problem since i have the exact same issue on Debian 13 KDE. i never used Debian 12. but i had used MX 23.6 and there it worked fine.
I hope this helps the developers.
Edit: Correction. When i log out (with logout button), scale stays at 100%. but when the screen locks out due to inactivity, scaling works and the login screen appears to be at 250%. so i think i can confirm what you observed.

Re: MX 25 Beta 1 Feedback thread
this may be the result of sddm running in X and KDE running in wayland. would be interesting to see if adjusting the scale while running an X session changed sddm's scale.Lurking wrote: Mon Oct 06, 2025 3:19 pmI tried logging out. Re: MX 25 Beta 1 Feedback thread
Think I have a bug. It's happened a few times. I have a Dell laptop, I sometimes put it in suspend (not hibernate) rather than shutdown. When I return by pressing the power button, it often has lost its internet (but not local network) connection. I can't get to websites. I can't do updates. I reboot and it is fine.

Maybe:
Advanced Network Connections > Double Click (maybe single) on selected/desired connection > General > Connect automatically with priority.
Change from "0" to something higher per forum advise.
Don't know if that should be 2 or 2 trillion, eleven "11" worked for me.
I'm on MX-21.3 Xfce.

I tried it in X11 and it is the same result: When screen LOCKS out due to inactivity, scaling on login screen works fine. But when manually login out, or re-booting, scale on login screen stays at 100%.dolphin_oracle wrote: Mon Oct 06, 2025 3:53 pm this may be the result of sddm running in X and KDE running in wayland. would be interesting to see if adjusting the scale while running an X session changed sddm's scale.
So, Wayland and X11 seem to be equal in this regard.

ah, the lock screen only looks like sddm. it is not sddm. at least I think so.Lurking wrote: Mon Oct 06, 2025 6:39 pmI tried it in X11 and it is the same result: When screen LOCKS out due to inactivity, scaling on login screen works fine. MX-Conky tool
I don't believe I've seen a post about these issues, but apologies if I've missed them.
Many of the Conkies have no previews within the tool pane, even after using 'generate all'.
Using the tool to generate images closes the default Conky, even after exiting the tool.. (This would confuse a new user.)
MX-CowanMildBlue has a duplicate entry within the tool. (There may be other duplicates; the naming style makes it difficult to check.)

smtube
Just to report that smtube is listed in the MX Package Installer app, but cannot be installed. On trying in Synaptic, it's not there!
(MX25 sys-v XFCE beta1)
P.S. smplayer installs from MX Package Installer just fine.
