MX-25 fluxbox beta systemd

When opening synaptic, the window is white but the theme is set to Yaru-olive-dark.
Image

If I open MX Package Installer, it does show the dark theme Yaru-olive-dark.

I've tried Arc-Dark and Greybird-dark-mx but the synaptic window is still shows up as white.

** I can replicate this with the live ISO.

With xfce installed checked a box in tweak show menu hibernate.
clicked the menu, hibernate. It did.

Tried what you stated, Hibernate option checked in the installer.
Created swap and hibernate options.
Is this with the standard Xfce version?

The option to create a Hibernate entry works OK on the AHS version.

MX 25 XFCE starts with Systemd. Synaptic doesn't recognize the deb822 format in its repository option.

On MX 23.6 XFCE, it doesn't recognize them either (Librewolf repository).

However, on both systems, it updates the repositories, detects updates, and installs them correctly.

I believe this is a Synaptic issue and has nothing to do with MX Linux.

Thanks everyone for your excellent work.

Is Synaptic GTK4/libadwaita in Trixie perhaps? If you install another GTK4 app (ie Simple Scan) does it also not honor the theme? GTK4 is maddeningly variable on non-Gnome systems.. :frown:

No synaptic is old school and the gui runs as root. So on most desktops it will pull settings from the root account rather than the user. Which are never set by any of the modern appearance apps since that would require elevated privileges.

Xfce is sort of an exception here as it xsettings Dameon provides the info.

It’s not new. Gparted does the same.

MX 25 Beta 1 in a VM, mx-updater 25.09.04mx25

I'm trying to set the auto hide feature of mx-updater in a script.
I see settings are stored in ~/.config/MX-Linux/mx-updater.conf

If I overwrite that file with a config that contains hide_until_upgrades_available=true, and then reload mx-updater, it flips this setting back to false.

Is this by design?

Re: MX 25 Beta 1 Feedback thread

FI:
After some tries (after used mx-snapshot) , I tested bleachbit into MX25-KDE-wayland session and systemd, and I had some heavy errors (after a reboot , the service samba can not be loaded at the boot process with systemd, and I had to do a full reinstall of MX25-KDE, hopefully from a iso snapshot).

Code: Select all

error like: smbd.service - Samba SMB Daemon loaded (/lib/systemd/system/smbd.service ... Active: failed (Result: exit-code)

... I never had this kind of issues with sysvinit -X11-XFCE4 , I think than bleachbit can be dangerous with MX25-KDE-wayland session and systemd, so I have uninstall bleachbit for this MX25 flavor.

EDIT : .... even without bleachbit, I have this problem after a mx-snatshot (after reboot into VirtualBox --> yhe boot stop at smbd.service - Samba failed ),

Re: MX 25 Beta 1 Feedback thread

#329 Post by YetAnotherID »

I'm testing MX 25 Xfce beta 1 in VirtualBox at the moment, if it makes a difference. I've been looking forward to the new version.

- Installing Wine or programs related to Wine from the MX Package installer doesn't work. The log file after attempting to install PlayOnLinux is below.

- I use the Windows and Arrow keys to tile windows to the left or right of the display (or top or bottom). Currently tiling two windows that way leaves a gap between them in the center, as well as a gap between the windows and the panel.

- Is there a way to get consistency in relation to the way scroll bars display? I'll confess to very much disliking scrollbars that change size or hide. Featherpad is an example of a program that opens with the old-school scrollbars. Is there a way to change them for the entire OS?

Thanks for the hard work!

Thanks; I did a fresh install of Xfce on different hardware, and there is still no hibernate button created for me.
