Thanks @Adrian
25.08.04 solved the issue on my end. I'll let others report back if the update worked for them.
MX Service Manager : keep asking root password and exit [Solved]
Re: MX Service Manager : keep asking root password and exit
This is my Fluxbox . There are many others like it, but this one is mine. My Fluxbox is my best friend. It is my life.
I must master it as I must master my life. Without me, my Fluxbox is useless. Without my Fluxbox, I am useless.

Re: MX Service Manager : keep asking root password and exit
Thanks @Adrian for the quick response and update.
Just installed it, seems to work fine now.

Thanks for confirming, actually I release a .05 which doesn't need those dependencies, I was using them for convenience mostly because jq is very small and also because awk is on most of the systems but why use them if there's no need.
I am also thinking to remove that tooltip when hovering over the items, it's not terrible useful and sometime the writing gets mangled. Any opinions?

@Adrian .05 is broken. Program won't launch at all now.Adrian wrote: Mon Aug 18, 2025 10:55 am Thanks for confirming, actually I release a .05 which doesn't need those dependencies, I was using them for convenience mostly because jq is very small and also because awk is on most of the systems but why use them if there's no need.

Re: MX Service Manager : keep asking root password and exit [Solved]
mx-service-manager updated today and is broken on my system.
I haven't used it in 2 or3 days and did not have the popup warning before.
Today after the update I get the popup that says:
Administrator Access Required
This operation requires administrator privileges. Please restart the application and enter your password when prompted.
Clicking ok then restarting and same thing happens.
Rebooting didn't fix it.
I apt-purged mx-service-manager and it took mx-apps with it.
Rebooted and installed mx-apps and mx-service-manager and still get the popup.
